Anyone else getting these plastered all over your Facebook feed? I’m seeing people that I previously thought were reasonably intelligent copying and pasting this garbage. Are people that dumb?
THANK YOU, MARK ZUCKERBERG, for your forward-thinking generosity! And congrats on becoming a dad!Im honored to post this!
Mark Zuckerberg has announced that he is giving away $45 billion of Facebook stock. What you may not have heard is that he plans to give 10% of it away to people like YOU and ME! All you have to do is copy and paste this message into a post IMMEDIATELY. At midnight PST, Facebook will search through the day’s posts and award 1000 people with $4.5 million EACH as a way of saying thank you for making Facebook such a powerful vehicle for connection and philanthropy.
I hope someone I know gets a piece of the pie—let me know if you do!!!

You have dumb friends on Facebook.

Yeah, people who post that kind of shit get unfriended.

It’s too early to want to drink this heavily

I see these sort of posts all the time, generally relating to some sort of “I am not giving Facebook the right to use my... blah blah blah.”
It always reminds me of this:

The Internet was way better before it was frequented by social media aficionados.

I heard they were deactivating inactive Hotmail accounts and if I don’t forward this email to at least 10 people my account will be deactivated.

Hmm, I think I might have a hotmail account. I wonder what the address was? is? Hope for their sake it’s been deactivated or being used as a honeypot.

Because meh fuckit it takes 5 seconds it can't hurt me and what if it's real nothing ventured etc.

Its stupid and you have to be stupid to fall for it.
Counterpoint: if you are given a choice between regular heaven and pie heaver, choose pie heaven. It might be a trick but if its not...mmmm boy!

lol
But what if their are only 9 active hotmail accounts left?!?!?!?!
![]() 12/08/2015 at 15:35 |

But it’s never real. It takes less than 5 seconds of critical thinking to come to the conclusion that if Facebook were to give away $45 billion, they wouldn’t do it like this.

All my Facebook experiences have been like this.

My personal favorite is the ones from a page called something like “Sony Play Station 4.” that says they have open box Playstations they’ll give away to the first 455 people to like the status, or “Walt Disney World.” (there’s always a period at the end of these) saying that they’re sending out 6000 boxes with lifetime passes to the park or some shit.
And somebody will say “what can it hurt lolololol?????1?” and what it hurts is my fucking brain to think that people I call friends are that fucking stupid.

1. I’m not saying it is real. I’m playing devils advocate.
2. Crazier things have happened. And if your peace of mind rests on a 5 second copy/paste, well... go ahead.
Personally I don't facebook and have no desire to, so in the end I really don't give a damn what people do on it

You’d....you’d be surprised who posts what. One time someone shared a Onion article, with no context. I thought, “man, this is gonna mislead people.” So j commented with, “hey, isn’t this that fake news website?”.

I haven’t seen any of those, I'm busy waiting for my money from that Nigerian prince.

That’s when you post a snopes article debunking it.

Yeah, I’ve been waiting forever for that guy to wire my money.

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they’d never expect it.

To be fair, they do deactivate inactive hotmail accounts. Though to keep them active you just have to log in once every 6 months or so.
