Was not planning on releasing it until I posted the whole comparison, but here is the grading system:
Grading System
The following categories will be added together to a grand total of 1000 possible points. An average circuit should be 500 points, but the ratings are not the only thing that matters, they are just a number. A short paragraph will also be written about each circuit.
FIA Grade
(Okay that’s kind of cheating, but the lower the FIA Rating, the more overall potential the circuit has! Plus, the FIA grading system is heavily based on safety, and that is extremely important! )
-Below is how the FIA categorizes circuits, based safety and facilities of the track.
GRADE CATEGORIES OF CARS
Grade 1- F1
Grade 1T- F1 testing
Grade 2- F3000, CART, IRL, F/Nippon, Euro 3000, Open Telefonica V6
Sports Racing Cars: SR1, SR2, LMP900, LMP675, LM-GTP, Interserie FIA GT
Historics: TGP (F1 of periods G, H, I), Sports Prototype and Two-seater Racing cars, over 2000cc, of periods G and later
Grade 3- GT: LM GT, LM GTS, JAF, BRDC, Trans-Am (USA), Aus V8 Supercar, Tranzam (NZ), NASCAR, Modified Saloons (ZA), DTM (D)
Single-seaters over 2000cc (except as in 1,2), BF3000, F/Holden
Sports cars over 2000cc (except as in 2), CN

So this is how I’ll rate using the grades:
Grade 1= 100 out of 100
Grade 1T= 85 out of 100
Grade 2= 75 out of 100
Grade 3= 50 out of 100
Grade 4= 25 out of 100
Ungraded= Based on opinion either 0 or 10 out of 100
Length
This is my opinion, but it is the right opinion. Longer is better. It is what makes circuits like the Nordschleife so popular!
How I will use the length of the circuit for ratings:
0 to 0.75 miles= 0 out of 100
0.75 to 0.875 miles= 5 out of 100
0.875 to 1.0 miles= 10 out of 100
1.0 to 1.2 miles= 15 out of 100
1.2 to 1.45 miles= 20 out of 100
1.45 to 1.75 miles= 25 out of 100
1.75 to 2.0 miles= 30 out of 100
2.0 to 2.2 miles= 35 out of 100
2.2 to 2.4 miles= 40 out of 100
2.4 to 2.6 miles= 45 out of 100
2.6 to 2.8 miles= 50 out of 100
2.8 to 3.0 miles= 55 out of 100
3.0 to 3.2 miles= 60 out of 100
3.2 to 3.4 miles= 65 out of 100
3.4 to 3.6 miles= 70 out of 100
3.6 to 3.8 miles= 75 out of 100
3.8 to 4.0 miles= 80 out of 100
4.0 to 4.25 miles= 85 out of 100
4.25 to 4.75 miles= 90 out of 100
4.75 to 6.5 miles= 95 out of 100
6.5 miles and up= 100 out of 100
(Longest Variation of Circuit Miles Plus Most Used Or Most Popular Circuit Miles Divided By 2)
I know not every difference between numbers is the same, but more common track lengths cannot be rewarded. It does not make sense to you but it doesn’t make sense to me either so we are even.

Elevation change is a major characteristic of a great circuit

Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course.
The track underwent a slight modification this year, the merger back onto the oval, turn 12, (1:18 into the video) was relocated further before the banking to provide a smoother transition for cars with little to no ground clearance. Simple in layout but loads of fun.

I was referring to NASCAR’s Texas Motor Speedway in Arlington Texas. That is Texas World Speedway (which I’ve driven....watch out for rattlesnakes in the tire walls lol).

Mosport! It’s near Toronto, and built in 1967 with input from Stirling Moss himself. They used to race F1 there and it’s a very cool old track.

I actually used that Wikipedia page to find these tracks! I will add those but not prince George, as it seems out of commission. Also, I’ll make a decision about the street circuit, I really didn’t want to have any except for absolutely amazing ones or F1 tracks.

Prince George is still in use, this video is about 3 years old.
On the street circuits, if you get rid of them then you have to get rid of some “semi-permanent” circuits like Potrero de los Funes because it’s public roads, and that would be a huge loss because it’s such a fun track. And then there’s street tracks that are no longer active like Montjuic Park in Barcelona, that place is so fun in Grand Prix Legends.
Looking at your criteria, I’m mixed on how it’ll turn out. There will be some tracks like Ingliston Circuit that are “club” circuits, not many corners and low-ish corner counts, but are a blast in the right vehicles. The way things are laid out, it really sounds like the Norschleife, Isle of Man, and Targa Florio would be at the top of the list. While they are great circuits, there are many others that are as much fun to drive for different reasons. Go with what you want to do, just personally I don’t think it’s possible to quantify how great a circuit is with numbers in this fashion.
One more thing, under Italy you’re missing the Franciacorta International Circuit, mostly know for hosting a round of the World RallyCross the last couple years: http://franciacortacircuit.com/en/ .

I agree it’s absolutely not all about numbers. That’s why I am also going have a paragraph or two on each track with my opinion so it kind of straightens them out. I think what I am going to do is make two separate lists, one of street or semi public circuits and one of permanent circuits. Doing that eliminates the street circuits and things like Isle of Man. Problem is, doing that I lose Circuit De La Sarthe and possibly my favorite track, Mount Panorama.
