Oppo users are 9 percent more likely to buy UnderArmour products and 23 percent less likely to buy Jordan Brand products than the average user. I’m judging our taste in shoes right now, guys. I’m judging it hard.

I buy Pumas. Does that make me more desirable/less desirable?

STATS AND INFO: Not buying basketball shoes with dimples on them makes you 300% more likely to get a quiet nod of approval directed towards your footwear from me.

But don’t you want people to know you go jogging in the middle of the night wearing all black?

Never. If I ever have to do that, I’ve a nice and bright orange hoodie.

The last pair of basketball shoes I bought were a pair of David Robinson Air Force pumps. In 1991/2. (Before that it was a pair of red and white Jordan’s).

I feel really old.

I prefer Adidas. Have a couple of pairs of Adidas running shoes that I use for everything from shooting on a football sideline to exercising.

As for sports/workout apparel? I like Nike dryfit (dri-fit?) shirts, though I have a couple of Adidas ones, too. Underarmour branded clothing is just too ridiculously overpriced in comparison.

Those that came with the pumps? I have one of the re-issues that sadly don’t contain the pump. Love 90’s basketball craziness.

UA is riding off the success of Stephen Curry, whose shoe actually seems pretty decent. I like their line right now; Curry 1’s seem pretty functional for a ball shoe.

You could say exactly the same about Jordan Brand though, whose namesake line has been going at it for 30 years, and includes endless reissues of AJ11’s and the like. Don’t see too many people here talk about basketball shoes though,

I’ve become so cheap that I buy whatever decent looking shoes and clean underwear I can find at the thrift store on the $0.50 clearance days. I’ve actually found quite a few good deals and good name-brand stuff, most of it unused. If I ever have a decent income again I don’t know if I can break my thrift store habits, however.

Not to make you feel even older, but I almost bought the David Robinsons when they were retroed earlier this year. Love those and greatly appreciate your further good taste on all fronts.

Dimples, though. DIMPLES. They took a well-performing, perfectly acceptable looking basketball shoe for an exceptionally likable megastar and put DIMPLES on them. UnderArmour: Two steps too far from cool things at all times.

Basketball shoes really make for terrible driving shoes. And terrible waking shoes. Terrible for everything except playing basketball, really.

Adidas

Adidas Samba.

These shoes have more of a cult following than the Miata.

Real nice shoe. With the earlier Robinson model retro’d last year I’m eagerly awaiting the high 180.
