You can nominate yourself, your friends, your enemies, and also people you don’t really know (as long as they’re on Oppo). Don’t be upset if you get nominated! Bear in mind that a shitty car is not the same thing as a hateful car.

I was over there today and borrowed it for a quick trip. It’s competent as far as having 4 wheels and an engine goes. But what a horrible cabin. It’s just a sea of Charcoal Grey plastic and fake wood that wouldn’t pass 1977 Chevy standards.

Yeah, but it’s still an XJ6. Even when it can’t move under it’s own power anymore, it’s still a comfortable and well-appointed place to sit.
I bet it wouldn’t even be that bad for you if it totally broke down. You’d just drive your other dead-reliable DD while it got fixed. It’s not like you have an Alfa as backup or anything. I mean, that would be insane even for an opponaut...

My 240d might be in the shittiest condition. Trim missing, rust, more rust, cracked foglight(just noticed that today), carpet just kinda lays there, cracked and peeling clearcoat(damn you oak trees), borked radio, more oil outside the engine than in...
Other than that everything works fine!

My timing cover is leaking from every gasket causing me to leak 1qt of oil every 3k miles and my engine/tranny mounts are so bad my shifter moves backward as I accelerate. But its a 22 year old Ford that hasn’t left me stranded for more than 5 minutes, so its not that bad. Oh ya, sometimes it struggles to find an idle on start up too

Define shitty. The Nissan econobox I’ve been driving around in the past few weeks is for some reason worse in every way than the Golf Diesel with a broken clutch that I’ve learned to drive on, despite actually working perfectly. It is probably more hateful than shitty, because you know, what little features it has work 24/7/365, but I think the fact that it is impossible to justify buying something nicer due to it’s absolute reliability and cheapness in every way makes it shitty as it’ll make you hate driving and feel miserable for the rest of your life.
Honorable mention goes to all Opel drivers.

My S10 Blazer, dubbed “the greatest shitty 90s blazer there ever was” by my friend. It was $600, the lights flicker if you're on a bumpy enough road, the steering has concerning amounts of play, the fuel gauge has never worked, the dome light dims if you push the passenger door panel in the right way, and if you put the power lock fuse in, they lock and unlock non stop. Oh and the bumpers are pushed in. And I dropped it off a jack onto its hub and leaf spring. But I've been driving it for over a year and it refuses to die

Mine seems like an oversimplification now that I’ve seen the official definition.
My truck is basically made of tin foil at this point, but I can't nominate it because it actually runs and drives pretty well. Also, it has a bottle opener mounted to the inside of the bed just inside the tailgate.

Then I nominate my 1997 F-250. Don’t need a key to start it, but only a few people know how to, has a steering wheel with the airbag cut out of it from a wrecked E-250, after I realized my steering shaft housing was cracked. power locks only work on the passengers side, but they only lock the drivers door. Glow plugs are shot, and the block heater is on its way out, so if it’s below 30 degrees out in the morning, you have to take the intake off and stick a hair dryer blowing hot air straight into the turbo’s intake while you cycle through the wait to start light 4-5 times, then after repeating that procedure 3 or 4 times, it’ll fire up with a big plume of white smoke, because my injector seals are going. It was also crashed last year by my friend Mike, because he borrowed it, had the front right caliper seize up on him. Now, the entire front end is from a 1994 Bronco I had been selling the parts off of. I bastardized a DC/120V inverter and have a outdoor outlet permanently mounted in the bed. Rear tires are currently down to the metal in some places, you have to hold it in reverse or it’ll pop out, the third gear syncro is completely gone, as is fourth, so it takes some getting used to. Clutch is incredibly heavy, the clutch on my tractor is actually lighter than this, it’s insane. I cut the muffler off and welded in a piece of 1/8 thickness 4” dia. steel tube to make a straightpipe, held in by some metal zip ties. The gauge for the front tank doesn’t work, so you have to have lightening fast reactions when you feel it starting to starve, so you can switch to the rear tank without having to reprime the system. Let’s see, what else.. It has a subwoofer with an enclosure made out of a wicker basket, and styrofoam block insulation and rtv silicon, ported with a solo cup. 268k and still runs strong, and the 4x4 works, so I can’t complain too much when it comes to its sole purpose, plowing, and landscaping, although new tires are going to have to happen soon. I also maintain that there is no better HVAC system in any car than those in the 1995-97 F250/350’s. Ice cold in the summers, and so good in the winter, that you can comfortably drive with the windows down and feel very little change in temperature if it’s on full blast.

I’m nominating my S4. It’s been very shitty since it was last parked, leaking about 4 inches of water behind the dash and collecting in the rear footwell. The electrics are all shot.
It moves under its own power, but it’s an engine that actively plots way to frustrate you by eating its turbos and generally being VWish.
It’s currently parked in the garage to dry the interior and then we’ll see if it can be reasonably made a race car, otherwise it will likely be sold for scrap.

Yesterday, in the spirit of giving,* my car gave away all it’s coolant to our national highway system. The front fender and grille are both shattered, it needs a wheel bearing, MAF sensor, window motor, and only one wiper works (I think a linkage came loose, it’s happened before.) Also the radio antenna motor does not work, but I don’t consider that much of a problem.
Edit: ...and the mainseal leaks... and the trans does not shift properly (bad range switch.) Don’t know how I forgot those.
Edit again: It also stalls sometimes, and has an outstanding recall for fuel rail disintegration. Stay tuned for more issues as I remember about them, and raise your hand if you would daily drive this (just curious.)**
*Tis the season after all.
**If you would take it for a cross country road trip, congratulations! You are as adventurous as I am.
