My work has got one for “testing” reasons, so what would you like to know? Sadly I can’t drive the thing because it has no plates. Pics are possible so ask away.

I wish I could confirm your dreams, but sadly I can’t.

Given that the engine is a heavily boosted 3-cylinder, I’d love to see the engine bay.

Hmmm... you must’ve signed one of those dang NDAs...
That or you work for an off roading company that is working on a lift kit and then you’re sending it along to the roof rack people...

Does it do sick jumps?

Any chance of getting some temp plates from your local DMV’s website? ;)

Sadly, they’ve made it in such a way that it can only be opened by a BMW Tech. Here’s as far as I got without tools.
The googles arent much help either, sorry!

No NDA relating to BMW here! I just don’t work for a roof rack/lift kit company haha.

Today’s top tip: be really, really careful about opening and closing panels. get it wrong and it’ll cost an fortune.

Yeah, hence why I stopped when I did!

...whoa. In a way, that’s just as interesting as managing to see the engine. Thanks!

How are the cup holders?
![]() 12/04/2015 at 12:44 |

Behind your elbow in a very knockable place.

That thing is begging for something like the Cayman-clear-cover mod.

And, awkward to use when actually in the car. The front cupholder is also right where your arm wants to rest while using iDrive, so it’s useless.

Yours has blue seatbelts.
I hate you.
Seriously though, that looks just like the one we ordered (grey, turbine wheels, blue seatbelts), but the white one came in first, and instant gratification deemed it acceptable. Couldn’t be happier, but man, I do wish it had the cool seatbelts. Is that inscription on the door sill for the special top-edition Tera world something or other they were offering at launch?
