I wonder how long it takes for a car like that to fully charge.

The other morning I had a strange thought: How long will it be before some tries to drive a Tesla from the bottom of south America to the top of north America? In order to do this, you'd likely need to pack your own solar panels to charge along the way.

That’s what I was thinking. Run a Model X, maybe worth a fold out trailer full of solar panels. Could be a pretty neat publicity stunt.

I think solar cars have sort of run their course. Some cars use panels to power auxilliaries to save fuel or power, and that’s it. Running a whole car off solar is silly.
