So the votes are in, and OppoMeet 2016 has an official date! August 6-7.

How begins the fun part, with around 18 people who are “for sure” going. We are going to look in to events and sponsors. So if you can now make plans to be in Bolingbrook IL in earlier August. Please go sign up, the more people we get the better the events are going to be.

I’m going to see if a local floor mat company may let us use their parking lot for some events, as well as maybe going to authobahn. Basically I need to know how much money people are willing to spend to attend.

If it’s $0.00 I think we can crash some other events and have a car meet & cruise and a pretty good time.

I’m thinking that if we can do between $20-$50 a person and get some track time. That would be a good trade value for money event.

I would love to get a swap meet area maybe get the L&LDC an area as well.

Thoughts? this is our meet, let’s make its the one we want.

I just can’t go on a 10 hour trip. I don’t even know what’s going on that weekend in terms of my schedule. And I wouldn’t be coming from east coast. Just straight shot up 65 basially.

I’m definitely in (already confirmed on Facebook). I can certainly spend $50. I could push that to $100 if someone will actually let my Roadmaster on a track :)

Depending on the number of people though that could be reasonable, 18-25 I would think maybe cook out would be a good event

It is a little bit. Basically I’m trying to build a skill set so I can leave day job and do podcasting / motor journalism / other fun stuff as a career and this is a good way to get some of that experience.

Take what it would usually take and double it with an old car to account for gas stops, and being slower on the highway. My 68 Camaro is not geared for highway driving. 65-70mph is 3700-4000 RPMs. Pretty hard on the little 327. My 33 Ford is the same way but also drinks gas like there's no tomorrow
