Watching some videos on the new Colorado as I’m looking to make it my next truck and I came across this one. Apparently VVT means it shuts down cylinders too. This is why non-car people should not be doing car reviews. Jump to 1:40

Well, it’s Motor Trend’s TOTY so it’s probably a safe bet. Get a Duramax Trail Boss if it’s in the budget.

Only negative I can see about the trail boss, besides the cost, is I don’t think you can have a tonneau cover with the roll bar the way it is.

Any particular reason for the tonneau cover? The Duramax should take care of any worries about gas mileage, if it’s that.

No MPG worries, but I have one on my Ram 1500 and I love it. Makes it really convenient for storage and not have to worry about stuff dissapearing from wind while on the highway or someone walking by and grabbing something out of the bed

Oh yeah, that’s a good point. Well, in that case, I’m sure you could at least finagle a soft tonneau to fit it, if not slightly hack up a hard one.
