I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t mad as hell.
Yes, I know those wheels are terrible.

I know you know, but yes, those wheels are TERRIBLE.

Vaguely related question, do you know what decent DR30’s go for?
(I’m not in the market yet, maybe in a couple years)

Too much, especially for coupes. In Japan, $7000+. I have a friend selling his DD R31 sedan for $6500 already in the US though

Dat midnight purple.

Understandable, for some reason R30 & R31 Skyline coupes 80’s-ness appeals to me. Thanks!

It’s fed legal
*Walks away with middle finger in the air*

I was being serious, as the complicated legality of R33s in the States is something which has been discussed on Oppo (by you, if I recall correctly) before. My suspicion was that the quick, sketchy sale situation was related to potential paperwork issues. But hey, get mad. That’s cool, too.

It seems to have lost it’s exhaust. Also, I don’t think I would ever buy a non-25 year car. Too large of a purchase to potentially end up getting seized and crushed in the future.
![]() 12/01/2015 at 23:25 |

It was a joke. IIt’s a 49 state legal car.
![]() 12/01/2015 at 23:26 |

It’s fed legal, and that was cut off because of terrible cat welding during EPA compliance

Judging by the cacti, I’m going to guess you aren’t in Japan...
Did you just really admit to the fact you weren’t able to buy a car that’s illegal here?

*sigh*
ITS A FED LEGAL CAR
![]() 12/01/2015 at 23:34 |

But is it fed-legal? And how?

Yeah, but those Land Rovers were “fed legal” and they were seized. I know they reversed the ruling on some of them, but it's a real concern.

That’s not really a thing, but ok.
![]() 12/01/2015 at 23:42 |

Yeah, it is. Ever heard of Motorex, JK Technologies, G and K?
![]() 12/01/2015 at 23:43 |
|
No, they were VIN swapped. Never fed legal. This car is absolutely fed legal, all proper paperwork from the NHTSA and EPA

Brought into compliance in 2003. All proper paperwork and work from the NHTSA and EPA

Is that Midnight Purple I see?
No wonder why you’re mad.

Crap. I like R33s better than 32s and 34s honestly. Sorry about that man

Hey, our good friend Hiro! Does it have OBD2?
![]() 12/01/2015 at 23:56 |

Only 4 or 5 actually had that done

I have been proven wrong. NHTSA even has a whole thing on the R33 being case-by-case.

I concede defeat. Maybe just link people to this when they dispute it.

Apparently it is.

Bummer - sorry to hear it, man.

Importing for the R33 Skyline is available in 2018 or 2019. I had looked it up while I was digging up all the craziness it takes to import and own a 25yr old car. :P

This car is legal.
