The state of the Volvo is strong. It runs well and drives well... When it starts! So when the engine is cold, it doesn’t want to start, (long long crank time. 30-40 seconds!) it does start easier if the oil cap is removed. I checked the spark plugs, they are gapped right, air filter is clean (enough). I’m replacing the fuel pressure sensor tonight. I’m going to put a check valve in to see if that helps tomorrow night. I don’t see any leaks in the fuel system; (home make smoke test was kinda not working, but nothing was draining on the floor of the garage) the only thing that seems to maybe be a problem is the fuel Pressure testing port fills with fuel and some times bubbles when the cap is off, (no idea if this is because cap is off, cause I can’t see inside obviously).
But when the car is warm it works so well! No problems starting!
Here’s the DTC print out.
If the car is not fixed this week, it’s going up for sale, the wife has had enough of it.

Weren’t these just as bad when ambient temperatures reach 75*F?

All this was just replaced (like 5 months ago) what would I be looking for?

Have you pulled the fuse box out and tried reseating every connection, both fuses and the connectors underneath?
My inclination would be fuel delivery, be it filter or a failing fuel pump.
I would also take a wire brush to every ground connection on the car.
Did the car by chance sit for any length of time before you bought it, or have you had it for a long time?

I still feel the issue with the hard start is an air leak due to the repair procedure Volvo has for those codes and the bit of information I highlighted. A smoke test would be the first thing i’d do to the beast. I wish I had fuel trim data on your car as well. Fuel pressure sensor will give out a specific code.

Filter just changed, forgot to add that. I’ve had it for over a year,
I went though all the fuses with associated with starting and fuel delivery. All good and reseated.

It's a tough decision to sell your car love . Do you have a viable winter beater ?

Where do you think the best place to hook up the smoke machine would be, I have a dooffy home made one, I used it on a Couple of older cars for vac leaks. No idea where to hook up on this beast.
Fuel pressure sensor, just because

right after the MAF. It’ll run through the turbo, intercooler, plenum, PCV system

I’ll do that tonight, I wonder if the shop that did the work forgot to tighten something.
Also if I try to start the car, and it doesn’t start, then I remove the oil cap there is a noticeable amount of vacuum pressure.

I do, but the wife wants the “family car” back. As it's costing a lot of time and money at this point, and hauling around the kid in the fiesta is less then ideal

What would you be selling it for?

Volvo runs negative pressure. -1.0 to -0.5 bar. Negative pressure is a good thing :]

Yeah, I know how it feels. I've been debating selling the S600 recently, but I've decided to park it for the winter and re evaluate in the spring. With any luck I'll be in a financial situation where I can justify the repair costs.

Well that’s encouraging then

I hope we can both keep our cars, this is a bit of “I’m sorry I was right” I told the wife we needed a big family car, she didn’t think we did, so I sold my C30 got the V70R, she loved that is was bigger and easier to put the kid in. Now that it’s not working. “We need a big family car!” LoL I hate when I'm right

There would potentially be interest here if you decide to sell it. Could you let me know some more details/send some more pictures of the car?
