First off, how was everyone’s Thanksgiving? Hopefully everyone ate a lot of Turkey/ham/stuffing/pie/whatever it is that you like. Now, on to my need for advice. About 30 minutes into a 9.5 hour trip my CEL came on in the truck. After pulling over and muttering at the truck for a minute deciding if I just keep going or turn around and get the other vehicle, I decided to turn around and get the code read at the nearest Autozone
On the way to the Autozone I pulled out to pass and discovered that I was missing about 100-150 horsepowers and one of the turbos was making a bad noise. So instead of Autozone we went straight home to swap my truck for my wife’s Escape and continued our trip. So now I’ve got an F-150 Ecoboost with only one turbo parked in my driveway. Thankfully I’m still covered by the powertrain warranty, but my question is this: do I drive it to the Ford dealer, or do I get it towed? On the one hand I don’t want to pay $100 for a tow if I don’t need it, on the other hand I don’t want to have a turbo spitting vanes into my cylinders. Rally car for your time.

I'd probably go with the tow. Call the dealer, maybe roadside is part of your warranty. Or your insurance might include it.

If you are still covered under Ford’s Roadside Assistance, you should be able to call them and have them tow it to the dealer on their dime.

I agree with everyone here - you don’t want them giving you shit or denying a claim because they think you’ve damaged it more.
