That car ...does not match the design of the aircraft...aerodynamics of a bedroom.

Meanwhile, it has the interior dynamics of a living room, so at least there’s that. “Don Douglas was crazy enough to buy our car and agree to pose with it... plane, something... I dunno, just roll with it”.
In fairness, they’re saying design in passenger comforts and looks is their thing and not making any claims as to aero. The DC-8 also has some odd visual features, for that matter, but mostly for more clear cut reasons than “we wanted to stiffen up the front fender”.

The Invader could drop its bomb load, then had enough power and turning radius to dogfight with a Messerschmidt. Plenty of guns to get that job done as well.
