I grew up in an age when newspapers were still a thing. The Sunday comics were what we searched for in the midst of the ads and sports section. Bloom County, Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbs and the Far Side were my go tos. Berkeley Breathes has brought Bloom County back via his Facebook page. He is doing it because he wants to. There are no distribution deals, no editors and few restrictions. It has been funny, political and sweet. If you used to read it back in the day you owe it to yourself to check it out.

When I was in college (‘84-’89), my daily routine was buying a copy of the Washington Post after breakfast, then going to the music building to buy a cup of coffee and sit and read the paper. Just about every day, somebody would come sit next to me and ask if they could read a certain section, and I said, “Yes, when I’m done with it.” I always read the paper in section order, and always ended with the comics, and always kept Calvin & Hobbes for last. I was never much of a Bloom County fan, but I’ll check this out. It sounds to me like he’s drawing for all the right reasons.

I’m SOOOOO happy that Bloom County is back. I have all the books from the old days. I nearly got sent to the principal for laughing uncontrollably while reading one in class. Now, I read the new ones first thing every morning and it’s wonderful.
