Family conflict opens up due to a disagreement over what goes and what stays.

Kinja'd!!!

I now have a collection of racing wheels, and naturally, parents only want me to take one over.

I say..

No. They’re all going. So are all my car parts, that also ESPECIALLY INCLUDES Civic parts (it’s my project, can’t you tell).

They’re all mine. Only one works for my Xbox and it has no proper feel, while all the others are kick-ass.

All my diecasts over the past 20 years ARE GOING. LALD post coming in a bit.

It’s a bit sad I’m leaving this house after living in it for 20 years. but hey, here’s to a fancier one.

My parents always with me because I threw away (or donated) everything — yearbooks, old toys, clothes...

I wish I would have kept it all but with my already-too-small garage as a homeowner pushing 30, it was for the best.

This is a follow your heart, thing. No one has the answer for another person, imo.

I was always a “pack it all up, I’ll sort it when I get there” kinda guy. The defining question at the other end was, “Where does this go?” and if I couldn’t find a space, into the donation/garbage it went. But I had to get it there to understand that choice - I could never do it up front except for the most egregious shit. Wall Drug bumper stickers, squished pennies from Pike’s Peak, my dad’s Whitworth wrench and socket set, etc.

No shame. I’m more or less a WASP and lived at home till 21 or so. moved out for a little over a year to finish college. Moved back to save up and buy my home. Glad my family was as supportive as they were.
