Historically, my friends and forum members have been very lucky. One guy had been in two serious collisions in the same car, and it saved him and itself both times. One guy has had three Mark IV Jettas with no problems whatsoever, all of which had high mileage and had gas engines. One guy stumbled upon a barn find Peugeot 505, and took it home for peanuts. Me? Not so much.
You see, I have historically both bad luck and bad judgement. I bought the world’s rustiest 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, and ended up having to give it away. I am somewhat prone to repeat my mistakes, and my timing is usually a little bit off. That’s why, when we started the buying process of our latest car, I was cautious.

No, its the automatic. My dad finds driving a manual to be too distracting.

Distracting from WHAT?

I think after manual becomes second nature, automatic gives more opportunities for distraction

Here in the colonies we spell judgment sans the letter E. Perhaps that has something to do with your bad luck.

This is what happens when your dad is British.
