When the word “hate” is used to describe just an inconvenience.
You can hate terrorism, you can hate drunk driving.
But you can’t really hate that the drivers seat in your 2015 Subaru Impreza is one inch lower than your ideal seating position.
Also, come to think of it, “grind my gears” is a good middle ground between “hate” and “dislike.” Thus, I only dislike it.

If it's something that's a big enough deal to you you can say hate no matter how trivial somone else might see it.

There are lots of others:
“Insane” for mildly unusual
“Most unique”
“You won’t believe what happened next!”
“Reaching out” rather than contacting
Now, get off my lawn this instant!

Along the lines of reaching out, "touching base" is one that people in offices love to use for some reason. I don't know what the hell my base is, but I don't want it touching yours. Just say you'll talk to me, e-mail me, or contact me.

I can’t link videos at work, but it reminds me of the Louis C.K. standup bit where he talks about people who speak in hyperbole, mostly about the misuse of "amazing" and "hilarious" for things that are mildly interesting or funny, at best.

I’m so glad someone said that. I would’ve been so disappointed otherwise.

My least favorite is when someone is asked to “provide a path forward” instead of saying someone is to “advise”, or simply “answer” some form of inquiry. People get a hold of these phrases in business environments and never let them go.

But, I hate being inconvenienced...
