Is there any difference between the valve covers for the DOHC LL0 engine offered in the Saturn S-series between years? My girlfriend’s car is a 2nd-gen 1997 SL1 and needs a new valve cover. I found a cheap used one on eBay for $45 that is intended for a 2000+, and the only one I can find for *her* car is $80, though it looks identical and the engines are both LL0 I4s, I’m still not sure if the part will be compatible.

Edit from earlier post, Seems the head got narrower 99 and later. So I wouldn’t risk it.

Thanks! I found a local recycler that might have a ‘96 valve cover and I found a ‘95 SC that’s being parted out on craigslist as having a ‘bad motor’ so hopefully it has an intact valve cover, because I really don’t want to drop $100 just for the cover on a car that also needs a battery and two motor mount studs.

Yep. Best of luck. That’s how I go about getting parts too, haha.
