Watching the Head2Head of the GT35oR v Z/28. The reaction to his stomping on the mustangs loud pedal is priceless. It truly is what the reaction should be in any performance car. . . Start the video at 5:41 to get to the mustang part.

The worst response to stepping on the loud pedal: hesitation :(

A few months ago at FSAE in Michigan we were given an early peak at the 350R and got to hear it run. I was there when they first pulled in. Immediately a group started to form around the cars and the driver indulged us in reving the piss out of it. I have to date yet to hear something as mean as that car. I have said before that it made Jags F type sound like a newborn kitten. The 350R sounded, cruel, sinister and had the tone that it would eat the first born of all in attendance if only it was able to drive itself.

I at the track a couple weeks ago and in the “fast” group was a late-model Boss 302. It was both fast and loud. Faster and louder than the 911 that was in their group.

Wow! Both amazing cars! The sounds!!!!!!
The high revver in the Mustang sounds like Nascar.
The big cuber in the Camaro sounds like WWII fighters.
Source? A P51 buzzes my house on a daily basis. Its amazing.

This is why people consider what Ford did with the live rear axle to be akin to black magic. The fact that it can keep up with other performance vehicles in turns is miraculous.
It’ll still bite you’re ass in a hard, bumpy corner though. After awhile I stopped letting people drive my S197 in any condtitions other than dry and sunny.

Awesome cars!
I would probably pick the Mustang, but I wish it didn’t look like it was trying to out Hotwheels the Camaro too. A little over-styled for my taste but at least it’s fast!
And I hate hate hate that plastic insert filling in the grill!
Do the Europeans have anything close to these!? Haha

That's a very accurate description of the sounds these beasts make!

Let’s just say the Camaro is a P-47 Thunderbolt and the GT350, is, well, a P-51 Mustang. The Thunderbolt is such a capable platform, but he P-51 is such a sweeter aircraft and outclasses the 47 like its nothing

sounds like can-am racer which makes sense being close to 302ci and ~500hp. sweet.

My little truck always makes a hop to the right when it hits a single sharp bump while under acceleration. It’s the live axle with an open differential and little weight in the back that does it. I can tell the difference with a full tank or a load in the back. I imagine that tweaking the weight distribution and the spring rates, along with a limited slip differential would make big difference.

No way! Both of those flew overhead today. And I gotta say, the Z28 sounded closer to the P51.

Well I was making a metaphor about the performance, not the sound. Nevertheless I’ve heard for myself some warbirds, absolutely fantastic. Except of course if it’s a twin-engine British transport I can’t identify taxiing away from you pummeling sand and random shit straight into your eyes

In that case, I would say the Z28 is a P51, amazing performance, kicked every ass. And the GT350 is an F86, new generation with new capabilities.

I LOOOOVE the sound of the GT350R
