Is it even possible without making a total mess? And keeping the original MMI system?

Have you considered an FM transmitter?

Does it have a tape deck ?

Nah, wish it did though, cassette to Ipod adapter would be the ideal solution.

I have no idea what that is.

It’s spendy, nearly 400 bucks...but a clean install that works with MMI.

You plug it into the cigarette lighter and it can broadcast any audio input onto a certain FM frequency, essentially turning your MP3 player into a radio station. Good alternative to an aux jack.

Spendy indeed, I need to check if I can find skilled labour for that in Brazil, seems like a good idea.

Yeah, that’s unfortunate then. I bought a Bluetooth cassette adapter for my S600 because the cassette player is behind a screen, so wires don't really work.

Probably cheaper than a AUX install too, but I’m not sure if it is practical for me, I will look into it though, thanks

Monster makes a pretty good quality fm transmitter system. I’ve used it in a Honda Civic and it did pretty well.

I think any car stereo installer would be able to do it, it’s just tapping into the wiring harness of the center console through the glove box. Sounds like some if not all of the wiring is already passed through the glove box for the optional CD changer.

You connect your Iphone to it and it transmits whatever is playing to some FM frequency that you pick up with the car’s radio right? Is there no interference?

I run this in my car.

Drive your 2005 A6 to an Audi dealer.
Sign some papers and surrender your monies (ALL OF THEM)
Drive away in a 2015 A6.
Get home, then go back and do it again with a different 2015 A6 because this one doesn’t have the AUX jack package option. Surrender your wife and firstborn this time.
???
Profit (for Audi)

My neighbor has an FM transmitter, working with his iPhone 4S, in his Hyundai Santa Fe, and it works quite well. Little interference, and pretty much foolproof.

To get the best signal, you set your car to a frequency that is nothing but white noise, or is very weak. Then you set the transmitter to the same frequency. That way, there is minimal interference.

What about my organs that come in pairs? Can I not surrender some of them and get the AUX package that must include a moonroof and chrome mirrors?

Huh, interesting indeed and cheap, will look into it

BMW is the one who wants organs. Audi is more of a human trafficker. You know. The Transporter and all that.

The transporter drove both Audis and BMW.

Knowing Audi, the first step probably involves taking the front of your car off.
