Seems weirdly familiar.
Anyone think the B9 Tribeca looked about as “decent” as a top end Cayenne of the same era?
Automakers, you need to stick with a design language long enough to get most of the shitty out of it. Kudos to Lexus for trying to figure it out. Lincoln gave up too soon, they were closing in on something unique.
And here’s the next gen Kia Sportage from the only angle I like of the design. I hope they stick with it long enough to make it work.
I think we learned that high set headlamps are hard to pull off. However, high set DRLs are a bit easier to adjust to.

Example for the drl’s:
I feel that the new sportage front end would look better if it wasn’t as tall, let’s see how that new family face adapts to something like an Optima or a Rio.

Well remember that the Cayenne got a significant styling update on 2008 that greatly improved the looks.

I found the Cactus far more agreeable than the Cherokee, which has finally begun to grow on me. Still not quite convinced with the Juke though.

Interestingly enough same thing for the 2008-2014 Tribeca:
But it ended up looking a lot more boring.

Actually all I can see is Picanto. So much Picanto.

I’d rather have the B9 Tribeca.
The rear is one of my favorite part of the design, especially the rear reflectors.

Agreed on sticking with a design language. I thought the first gen CTS was ugly, but then then every redesign after that across the model line up just got better. They went from this:
To this:
And with a lovely STS, XLR, and SRX very early on. And some beautiful concepts in between.
