So I ripped my old copy of Metroid Prime into an ISO and have been playing it on my PC... at over twice the original resolution. It’s fantastic. If anyone has any old GameCube games and a reasonably fast computer, I would highly recommend downloading the Dolphin emulator and trying it out.
2x resolution above, original below.
And some juicy HD gameplay:

How do the controls work? I would love to play that with a mouse + keyboard setup...

I have a USB dual stick controller that I use. Controls are fully mappable to keyboard or gamepad.

hrrrrrrng I might have to try this then. I never was very happy with the gamecube controller and quit halfway through (although I was enjoying the hell out of the game)

https://dolphin-emu.org/ Be warned- A cheap computer will have framerate issues. You’re not just running a game, you’re emulating a computer that’s running a game. A simulation inside a simulation. I use a program called PowerISO to rip the game discs.

The game itself can’t do that unless you can emulate the Wii version with the motion controls mapped to the mouse. The GameCube version only uses one stick to move, and to look around you hold the trigger a la Goldeneye.
