Fresh from Quaife Engineering in Sevenoaks which is actually very close to where I work. If I’d known I’d have gone and picked it up!

Whats the type and specs? Type 2, 3? Whats the TBR?
EDIT: went looking at the specs are unhelpful at best but my guess is Type 2, unknown TBR.

Granted, I think the clutchpack Powr-Lok in my Jag rear should be just dandy, but anything bespoke is worth extra attention.

I’ve always wondered what a thingamajig actually looked like.

A gymcrack, on the other hand, looks like this:

Did rather nicely in my Jag so I’ve got no complaints about a Powr-Lok :)
I do like the mechanical elegance of a helical diff though. No plates to wear, no fluid to worry about, just gears and witchcraft :)

Yeah I had a look for that but I couldn’t really find anything. When I’m home I’ll see if have anything in the documentation that came with it...

Yeah really not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I hear their aftercare is excellent, and the product is great.
Plus, if you want an LSD in a small-chassis diff they’re pretty much your only option...

Not to be confused with a whatchamacallit, which Hoot Nanny uses to grind smoke with.

Yeah, it’s pretty easy to confuse the two.

the one for my old v6 mustang was super cheap.

Jammy git. I suppose it depends a lot on availability. This is the only company that do them for spitfires, and they’re relatively high end. I picked up my whole lsd diff for my jaaag for 200 quid because they had them from the factory...

Yeah the v6 mustang used a lot of the ranger drivetrain so easy parts.

Does that go into the stock Triumph rear end?
![]() 11/30/2015 at 16:56 |

Yep :) bolts onto the stock crown wheel and the driveshafts slot in. You have to do some modification for some of the higher ratios, but they’re only really of use on racers anyway...

How much if you don’t mind me inquiring.

Of course :) it was £690 directly from quaife, but that includes vat (uk purchase tax). If you’re buying from the states i don’t think you pay that so it’ll be £575.
What’re you thinking?
