So 80s it hurts. You take off the badge and it looks like someone cut the roof off an early Audi 4000 coupe and put 3-series taillights on it.

Nice :) the Spiders are the pick of the bunch if you want them to last. I tihnk they were the first of the galved ones and they might have been assembled at one of the coachworks rather than at Maserati if memory serves me right so likely a little better put together...

This is a great opportunity to get into the exotic car market without going broke.
At least until the first repair bill comes in, sure.

I don't know anything about them but I thought the power numbers were funny: twin turbo V6 that doesn't break 300 hp.

Yeah they are quite low, but you’ve got to remember they’re really early days turbocharging. The Saab 99 Turbo only made 143bhp from a 2.0l turbo, and the later 900s never broke 200bhp.
With some more modern equipment and/or a bit of tuning you can get these to make a lot more power. The 2.0l TT V6 in the Ghibli Cup (basically the same engine except only a 2.0l but with 4v heads instead of 3v) made 330bhp and held the highest bhp/l for ages.
It is all a little odd though when you compare it to modern 2.0l turbo 4s that make more power...
