We came. We saw. We drove it a little. We decided it’s awesome and we want it. So it’s going to be ours.
I’ve already signed up at the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I’m pondering what needs to be done immediately, and what can wait while we do that whole moving thing. I need to find a driver’s door due to rust, but it’s the same door as a 4-door Cherokee, so that should be easy to find. It runs kind of rough, but it’s been sitting for a while, so basic stuff like fresh gas, Seafoam, and just running it will hopefully blast the crap out of it. If not, we take it from the top and do the easy stuff first.
Beyond finishing the repairs, what are our plans for it? We’re getting a house, and a truck will help haul stuff around. It will also replace the Focus (which is going away next weekend) as my winter daily driver. We’re going to set it up as a rally sweep vehicle. And I’d like to try off roading for the first time. Despite all of my other wild vehicular adventures, I’ve never had the chance before.
I’ve proposed that we name it Mary Jane. After all, it’s a Jeep MJ.

I always turn my head when I see these bad boys. So utilitarian!

There’s a modded Comanche in my neighborhood.

Nice find. If its running rough, do plugs/wires/cap/rotor. My XJ was running a little rough, found out the plug gaps were wayyyyyy to big. Runs way better now.
New steering stabilizer probably couldn’t hurt either, if you think you may have some death wobble. Its not so much a fix as it is a band aid, but you’ll thank me for that.

Thanks for the tips. Plugs/wires/cap/rotor are my plan if getting some fresh gas in there doesn’t fix it. I didn’t get to drive it fast enough to see if there’s any death wobble, but the entire front end is new, which is one of the reasons we decided to take the plunge.

Ah, you should be good then. Its not always speed related either, but when you hit a bump it will send the front end into doing its own thing.

Right now if we hit a bump in it we would go flying, because the bench is not bolted down yet due to floor being in progress.

Aren’t you glad I suggested we go ahead and buy her?
Welcome to the dark side.
