Just a guess. I think I got about 12-15k miles out of them.
These first two are the original fronts, down to the wear bars.
The other pair still look alright, but are wearing thin. Tires seem to fly when you’re having fun.
Also, washing your car on days like this is so satisfying. You'll have a car cleaner than everyone else's for all of 10 minutes. ^_^

It might be time for winter tires or all-seasons :p

Are those supersports? Mine have been wearing stupidly good, I'm at over 20k miles on them and I can't complain as they still look newish, and I can't even rotate mine.

Ahead of the game ^_^

Those are the stock Eagle F1s. I’d like to switch to super sports next year. I hear those offer the same or better performance with increased longevity.

Are you going to leave the 944 out in the driveway all winter?
![]() 11/22/2015 at 14:20 |

I’m leaving it until I clean out the garage.....again. -_-

Uh oh... Better get cleaning, doesn't look like the snow is going to wait on you. I'd suggest maybe getting a storage unit? One big enough to either a) put the car in for the winter or b) move all the shit in the garage that you don't need into there so you can put the 944 in.

That last line is so true. That blue is a really nice color on the fost. What’s it called?
![]() 11/22/2015 at 16:37 |

That's performance blue. It's an option on all 2013-15 STs. They replaced it with kona blue for 2016.

I have the PSS on the Camaro right now, the stock F1s are in the basement. PSS are nowhere near as good as the F1 performance-wise, but my F1s are nearly done with just over 10k (including 5-6 autocrosses and a track day) on them.

Mazda and ford seem to have the nicest paints on modern cars.

Are you not rotating the tires when you change the oil? That’s extremely necessary on a FWD car and especially on the mk4 focus.

I Rotate them every oil change

They do, but I also think Dodge and Porsche have it pretty good as well.

How are your PSS’s in the rain?

How have your PSS’s been in the wet?

Chiming in: crazy confidence-inspiring. I was on a weekend driving trip in the Ozark back roads with my friends, and one day it was terribly foggy and misting. Everything was soaked. My friends were all spooked on their summer tires, but I was cool as a cucumber on my PSS.

Hmmm. Autocross with them? I’ve had Eagle F1s on my Cobra and GT500 (Ford loves F1s I guess :\) and they’ve lasted at least 30-40k. And I drive the shit out of my cars.

I drive the shit out of this. I did one autocross last month and it was my first one. I’ve just under 20k on the car, and I’m sure only 60-75% of the miles were on the F1s. I may have done a couple mini burnouts, but only for a second or two max.

I generally avoid driving the Camaro in the rain so I can’t say for sure, but the F1s were laughable in rain. Confident that the PSS would be better.

I’ve never swapped tires at every oil change with FWD. I rotate front to back in spring/fall when I switch between winter/summer tires. Never had any issues or unusual/massively different wearing.

Non-issue. Much better then the pzeros I had before in the rain. I don't really push them to the limit in the rain, but I never had an issue with traction loss or hydroplaning.
![]() 11/23/2015 at 14:43 |

Definitely not limit pushing in the wet. Just curious since NYC doesn’t typically have very dry summers, and usually has a bit of rain I want something that works well in both.

Pss will be great. If you lived in the uk with rain every day, the conti dw’s are just a tad bit better. But pss won't have an issue daily driving in the rain, even better then all seasons.

Its pretty scientific that a FWD car will always wear the front tires faster than the rear, especially given any spirited driving. They’re heavier in the front, push power to the front, and dive to the front under breaking. Physics is going to tell you that they wear faster. Now on a 50k mile tire it night not be noticeable, but these Eagle F1s are soft and wear quick. The difference would be quite noticeable (as shown here).

Still, those all explain the difference in wear. Rotating at every oil change doesn’t help if you do burnouts one month and not the next. ;)
I’ve owned an MS3 so I know how the FWD turbo temptation goes.
