This is how I had to work on my cars: In a parking lot, in the middle of the night to avoid the Florida heat.
Now that I have a garage, I have no excuse for my laziness.

Before you ask, no, those are not real power lines. Nor are they giant cars.

I don’t know about your garage, but any semblance of western exposure, it’s 20 degrees hotter than it is outside for most of the day :D
As a kid in Florida, our garage stayed open almost all the time we were home.
/great in the winter, though

I solved that issue by correcting the bigger problem: living in Florida.
I’m actually having the opposite problem today: It’s 42 degrees outside, and I have to put my snow tires on. The garage is full since I didn’t get the Mini into storage yet. It’s going to be a cold afternoon. Really though, I’d much rather work on a car with 42 degree weather than 92 degree weather.

Amen to that. I’ve been in Alabama for 20 years now — four real seasons, and winter is very rarely so cold you can’t work outside.
Summer here is still horrible, though. At least it’s over after 5-6 months :D

No shame there. I had to wrench in a gravel parking spot for a while. After the first time I did it, my wife wondered what the heck happened to my back. Rolling around on gravel makes it look pretty nasty, as I found out.
