This is all I had. My parents were terrified at the concept of me driving, and kept me from getting my license for a while. Once I got it, my mom had gone back to work, so I still didn’t have a car to drive regularly. So my Mongoose Alta was how I got around.
And I got around. Everywhere. I was buff back then. I rode it 3.4 miles each way to school rather than take the bus. After beating the bus home, I found it much more fun to allow it to pass, then draft it most of the way home, like in Breaking Away . 47mph on a mountain bike is... interesting. I did tours and century rides. I also had a Univega road bike that I raced, but the mountain bike was the workhorse.

Realistically speaking, my current “daily driver” is a 2012 Bianchi Volpe.
(This isn’t mine, but mine is similar)
I ride to work 3 times a week, taking public transit most of the rest of the time or if the weather turns bad. The WRX only gets used when I’m driving out of the city, which I do after work about once a week and maybe every other weekend.
