This was my primary conveyance during my “why the hell did I wear that” and “I’m never drinking again” years.

You know it. The farty glasspack I added needed something pretty to breathe out of.

I had the Vortec version. +40 HP compared to the regular TBI version. Loved that thing.

TBI was the coolest method of delivering fuel to an engine EVER.

And it may have been +40 to most TBI’s...but not mine hahahahaha.

But mine had the same kind of injection as the Corvette so therefore:

my engine = Corvette engine

I think the number of cylinders would be more important than fuel delivery in “corvette engine” talk.

the coolest thing was watching the 2 injectors “spray” while it was running. Do a little hand rev while under the hood, looked AWESOME.

Mine was technically a “270” we did a 60 over bore on the 4.3L, ported the heads, different pistons, roller’ed valves, exhaust. It was awesome. I built it myself with my dad over my shoulder. He bought it for $500 with blown headgaskets when I was 14 so I had plenty of time to get it going.

That’s awesome. Did you ever dyno it?

:( no

I had an invite to take it down to the GM proving grounds while I was at Michigan State but I had driven home for winter break and missed my chance.

I think they wanted to see it because 1 that’s a big bore for a 4.3L, common is 30 over, 60 is starting to risk stuff (overheating/cracking) and it had been SOLID with a teenager beating the crap out of it for years. I used to rip the tires in it left and right. I loved destroying the “tuner bros” in high school, even burned a 3 series BMW once (man that dude was pissed )

Well, the only logical solution is to build another.

I wish I had the time, resources and cash.

Man I miss that truck.

It’s my one blatant regret in life - selling that truck.

Ah, doubt I'd know her then. I don't think I've been there since sometime around 2008.

yeah the years don’t match enough. but with how small campus is you probably do run into just about everyone or know somebody who would know.
