With the exception of the super-limited (124 examples) Prima Edizione cars, which come in a really fucking amazing blue, your color choices are black, one of two whites, one of three grays, and a muted, bland red.

Compare that to the colors you can get on non-Abarth 500s, which is a rainbow of bright, exciting choices, and I start to get cranky.

Yes, I know, I drive a white car, but I drive a white car because I drive a sporty American car and white over blue is one of the variations on our national racing colors. So I have a reason for going white. I mean, Fiat could have at least offered a good, bright red.

I still want the fuck out of the 124, though. I mean, Miata that makes awesome noises.

Assembled by mazda, I wonder if that’s why? Really needs a loud red.

Seriously, just throw the red from the 500 Abarth on there.

Miata that makes awesome noises and should be able to make 175-190bhp with a £300 remap ;)

I see the car being a huge success, because of the increased tuning potential a turbocharged engine provides, and, most importantly, it being the “butch” Miata. The slightly insecure men who wanted a Miata but don’t want the “hairdresser’s car” baggage that comes along with it now have an option, and they’re going to jump all over it.

Yeah I was trying to think of the last properly lightweight, RWD, manual, turbocharged car and I think it might have been the Nissan Silvia.

Hopefully it’ll be leapt upon by the sort of people that set up car cults.

I know there are already people offering remaps for the 500 Abarth between 190 and 220bhp so that should make for a damn fun car :)
