Yes it’s not the most exciting car and probably won’t actually race anywhere but asking fans is cool!

I think somethings wrong with me. I actually... like the way this looks.

I bet it would race well since it’s basically a Mazda 2 and they did well in racing.

nothing is wrong, with that color, tasteful lowering and wheel fitment, it looks good

Is B-Spec still active?

Kinja'd!!!

Scion should do that.

Tis true, but I’m really not a fan of most new vehicles styling.

yeah, I’m not crazy about the big high blunt front ends that are essentially mandated for pedestrian impact requirements

One thing that really bothers me is the wheel wells on cars that accommodate 23”s from the factory. Challenger/camaro are a good example.

It’s like everything is turning into those strange special edition hot wheels

ha ha yea, that too is a consequence of the pedestrian impact standards. In order to keep the fenders looking sort of proportional ( about 30% steel above the wheels to the hood line keeps things looking “right”) the wheels have to grow. other wise it looks goofy like a pirus.

Damn standards, ruining all the fun.

I actually like how it looks too. Other than the huge mouth on the front it looks like a mini sporty Lexus IS.

Pretty much. Though it is also a call to action for designers to find way around it. I remember Volvo having a pedestrian airbag concept that they were hoping to allow them to keep their noses lower. Unfortunately that seems to have failed since I haven’t heard anything more about it in at least a year now.

Everyone else has just made huge grilles and wheels to try to make their easy solution look more palatable.

Cool I did not know that this along with the Toyota Yaris were based on the Mazda 2

Yaris isn’t. It’s a different platform.

Yes it is alive and well in SCCA and also World Challenge. The iA is actually based on the Mazda2 which already races in B-Spec

Sounds like a perfect fit for the iA.

It’s not bad, but it still looks better as a Mazda...

I’ve said this many times and and I’ll say it again, I really like the idea of this car and I could see myself buying it as my next car.
