It’s about time Honda splits the coupe from the Accord family, gives it all-wheel steering, fully-independent suspension, maybe an LSD, and calls it the “Prelude.”
If they want to market the Accord coupe as a sports coupe (which it seems they want to), they ought to at least give it a better name than “Accord.” Sports tuning comes later.

Watch it be like the Crosstour, they’ll make it the Accord Prelude and then chop off the Accord name to ease people in.
Really though, that’s a good idea. The Prelude needs to come back. But then ricers will get hold of it in a few years and ruin it.

I’m okay with that. Ricers move on to the new hotness (like it seems they have with the BR-Z) and some of the old ones get to live.

V6 or turbo 4? What would something like that cost anyways, like $30k?

It seems that at least with the BRZ/FR-S crowd, they upgrade their engines to match the looks.

I’m envisioning a base model, with a 1.6 turbo making around 200 hp, all the way up to a sport model, with either the 2.0 turbo from the Civic Type-R or the established 3.5 V6, and at least an LSD.
The base can start somewhere around $24,000, and the sport can start around $35,000.

“they ought to at least give it a better name than “Accord.”
And if they want to offend people, they can give it AWS, IRS and an LSD, but then call it the Honda Integra and make it CVT only...

Some do, some don’t. There are plenty around here that have been slammed and given flares...almost the “Rocket Bunny” look without the rocket part...

Are you telling me it doesn’t currently have and independent suspension?
edit: I checked it out and it seems it does.

“prelude”, “prelude” - haven’t I heard that somewhere before? Maybe I’m just dreaming...

the 7th gen was the last to come with fully-independent suspension.

Unless it looks as classy and slick as this, don’t bother.
Frankly, from the snow belt, and as an enthusiast... it should be AWD, at least optionally. FWD is an economy compromise, and a major let-down, dynamically.
From Accord to Civic, HRV, CRV, and the dust-buster that is the CR-Z, I don’t have confidence that Honda can make anything that handsome or compelling anymore.

In the same way it was Porsche’s job to make the RR layout great, I’ve always felt it was Honda’s job to make FWD great, which they can. With today’s technology, a FWD bruiser isn’t out of the question.

its time they make something v8 powered and RWD
