UPDATE : New pictures below.
It gets a new cam for more power, new sheet metal, fascias, lighting, and wheels, a Rockford Fosgate stereo as an option, re-tuned suspension, apple carplay, Android Auto, new fabrics, new instruments, and new controls. It also gets this delightful dark purple colour. What do you think?

That actually looks great. Cheap cars have just gotten better lately.

Cool, but they need to bring back the pink color, and offer a sunroof :)

Holy hell, the Mirage actually looks GOOD now. Hopefully they’ve fixed the woeful interior. And that’s an awesome colour, more cars need options for dark purple.

Sounds like it’ll be more expensive, undermining the reason it exists at all.

I REALLY like that color
![]() 11/18/2015 at 20:29 |

I like it. This is one case where I don’t mind a bit of brightwork on the front end.

It actually looks more like something intended for developed markets now. Considering the last one was an actual success (by Mitsubishi standards) even though it was never supposed to be sold here, this should be a winner.

It probably will, but the question is: “by how much?”

Mitsubishi needs to stop putting that ugly piece of chrome on the fenders. I hate that it is in the final edition of the EVo X.
If I had one I would just swap back the turn signal that was originally there.

I bet this chrome will double the price of it.....

nah, that’s the LEDs

Color is great. Revised tail lights are great. Front end.... i can’t say I’m a fan.

Fair enough.

I just think the new front is trying to look too aggressive and it almost tries to be something that it isn’t.

What’s it make for power now? 57?
![]() 11/18/2015 at 20:57 |

Almost 80!

It reminds me a lot of something, but I’m not sure what.

I have the same feeling as well.

Perhaps the Dodge Attitude...
which is just a Mitsubishi Attrage...
![]() 11/18/2015 at 21:18 |

All they changed are the bumpers, grille, and head/taillight innards/lenses.
![]() 11/18/2015 at 21:25 |

They also changed the hood.
![]() 11/18/2015 at 21:27 |

It’s got the upper fascia of the Attrage, with a lower fascia similar to a 2LT Spark.

I think I'd like to thrash the shit out of one to see if it still has some of the good Mitsubishi DNA under the skin. Driving slow cars fast is a great way to find their character.
![]() 11/18/2015 at 21:46 |

Yeah, close enough. IMO “Attrage” sounds a bit like “Atrocious” which is probably a rather fitting word for the Attrage...

A lot better than it’s Mexican cousin...

I need this car. Light weight, well tuned brakes, hopefully well tuned suspension, and it comes in purple. The suspension was supposedly the biggest flaw, so if they fixed it that would be great. Also, purple is a my favorite color, and more power is a plus.

I know of someone who agrees about the color.

Being a fan of small and cheap cars, I actually didn’t mind the old Mirage (even the cheap interior...it may have been cheap, but it was functional, much like my DD ‘09 Accent) - that being said....I really like this facelift. It looks a lot more “developed” and grown up now! LOVING that color too! :D
![]() 11/18/2015 at 23:00 |

Does this say “GT” under the “Mirage” badge...? Mayhaps this is the highest trim of the upcoming facelift? If that is the case, how much of what we are seeing will be on the lower trims?
![]() 11/18/2015 at 23:02 |
|
That’s a good question. I’d assume the gauges, fascias, and powertrain upgrades would trickle down. Not sure about the lighting or wheels, though.
![]() 11/18/2015 at 23:22 |

I imagine the light clusters would, especially the rear ones at least...not much point wasting money on different light clusters (aside from front LED DRLS) these days for most manufacturers, it seems.
The lower trims prob get the same headlight clusters, with the same space for the LEDS, just minus the actual LED holes and wiring. Maybe less brightwork on the lower trims too?
Tach might be optional on lower trims....it often is on Euro and Asian cheaper cars (at least older ones?).
Another question - the last-gen Mirage pre this facelift had a little slit for a “grill” to let in cooling air on the front. This facelift has an actual “grill” - hard to tell, but is this grill letting MORE cooling air in, or is a lot of it just blocked off plastic except for the same little slit?

New antenna location as well - old one was longer and mounted at the front of the roof, this one is the smaller kind and now mounted at the back.

Hate this design detail on cars...if the tail-light clusters are red, the High Mount Center Stop Light should be red to match, otherwise it looks really out of place to me...
![]() 11/18/2015 at 23:31 |

Another trim thing - auto climate control in this model, lower trims will have the (preferred by me, anyway) familiar 3-dial manual climate control, I imagine.

As long as it undercuts its competition (Versa Note, Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris), it stands a chance.

new colour for bigbossyboss to get for the rainbow.

Carplay?
It looks really good too. If it’s still super cheap I’m a fan
![]() 11/19/2015 at 12:48 |

Yup, it has optional carplay and Android Auto integration.
