Looking for leonids and I found this. Enhance...

Leonidas must’ve gotten really fat, because all I see are clouds.

Sorry, that was me. I left my quantum supercollider on by accident.

Who let Michael Bay out, he’s lens flaring reality?

Figured as much.

Comet maybe? I’m just getting into astronomy, so I’m probably less than helpful

It’s raining here. I looked up and almost drown!

I don’t think so just because of the exposure time. A comet should look like a streak across the sky. Unless it’s coming riGHT AT US!

It’s a galaxy. Probably Andromeda.

Cool. That’s what I was thinking/hoping. I really need to get to a place with less light pollution.

It’s either my home planet. Or aliens.

It looks like a galaxy, but I don’t know your setup and if it would be capable of capturing one. Based on the tree in the picture, it looks like you’re not using a telescope, and I don’t believe there are any galaxies that you can see like that with the naked eye. I think it’s more likely a atmospheric distortion or cloud or something, especially with how “fuzzy” the rest of the stars are.

you should download google sky map. It will show you where to look for everything and if you hold it up to the sky it will update the map to the direction you are looking. I also would guess its a galaxy. I was going ot guess either small or large Magellanic cloud but Andromeda sounds feasible as well
I also have an app to show the ISS:

I know that the Andromeda galaxy is visible by the naked eye if you’re near a dark enough sky. And the camera is definitely capable of picking up more things. But I dunno.
Image taken with a Nikon D3300. f2, iso800, 35mm focal length with an 8 second exposure.

Looks like Andromeda Galaxy (AKA M31) for me.

Apparently you can, neat. Just did a bit of googling, found this picture:

I rescind my previous comment about atmospheric distortion, it might actually be a galaxy. Neat.

Hey man where were you that you could see all of this??

My front yard in Eastern, PA. The camera picks up a lot more than the naked eye, but you can still see quite a lot. You’re near NYC right? You probably can't see much.

I went on a cruise to the Virgin Islands back in 2006 and that night sky in the middle of the vast ocean was an utterly mind blowing experience. I’ll never forget the sight and it reminded me why past civilizations relied so heavily on the planets and stars. Imagine that picture x1000 but seen with the naked eye.
