I have a goal to own a different vehicle for every day of the week. Will they be anything expensive and interesting? Mostly not. Anytime soon? Well retirement is 40 years away, and all financial gurus say that is no time at all.
The point of this is to challenge myself with care and upkeep. I was raised that it isn’t about what you own but how long you’ve owned it and the level in which you have cared for it. I’m a very proud owner of a very clean 100k mile Kia Amanti on 20s, and a 4x2, 5.7L Grand Cherokee. Both vehicles I researched and searched for in the exact specifications (exterior, interior, technology, and drivetrains). The Amanti took 7 months to find while the Grand Cherokee took 11 months.
The Amanti is what made me a car enthusiast (I’ll write that article eventually). I did consider selling it since the internet comments made me embarassed. But then I remembered Im an adult and can do whatever the fuck I want in order to keep my sanity and happiness. I feel great looking and driving both vehicles and honestly the reactions I get are far better than I would have guessed because the vehicles “fit” me.
I had a Kia Rio that I would have kept as well, but I didnt start caring for it until the last 1/3 of it’s life. I regret not doing a better job with that vehicle. I’m learning Oppo, and that’s the real goal.

While that would be amazing, your insurance rates would not be :o

While this internet forum is mostly encouraging and respectful, I’m mostly not.
I like you Mr Wobbles, but those 20s still need to go.

This could be possible if you had 1 car, 1 truck, 1 project/track car, 1 car for your SO, 1 car for your kids, and 2 motorcycles... not that unreasonable.

As someone who daily drives a 200,000+ mile 80s German car, I definitely appreciate and respect those who put the effort in to keep their rides rolling and in good condition.
That said, I can’t imagine taking care of 7 at a time! My one car takes up a bunch of my time. Hats off to you if you can keep them all going!

I think my best was having enough cars for the Thanksgiving weekend: four.

“But then I remembered Im an adult and can do whatever the fuck I want in order to keep my sanity and happiness.”
That, sir, perfectly sums it up. It doesn’t matter others think. It’s what makes YOU happy that matters.

I may have an M in my future. Maybe. It will be an M with a V10 as well.

My thought as well. But when I was briefly paying for my mother’s Camry, my Rio, Amanti, and Grand Cherokee, I was paying $420 with full coverage on one vehicle that rolled over to any vehicle in the event of an incident (meaning that the cheapest vehicle was the full coverage rate and the vehicles with payments I do not pay full coverase on). So $1000 to insure seven vehicles is possible (I would want at least two with full coverage). Still a lot of money obviously for a needless habit, but it’s the only one I have.

Lol, you’re fine. I lIke you too and I hope he keep being yourself. Wheels aren’t permanent and I like to try everything. It’s when people tell you, “that car is a piece of shit” that bugs me. Nah, the wheels aren’t my taste either, however they are completely unique and I would never put them on something like a C63, Cayman S, M6...honestly the Amanti is the only vehicle no one can claim you ruined the car. So I took the opportunity to learn how to avoid curb rash, purchase performance tires, and etc. before owning a sports car. Stock wheels are just out back.

Exactly my thought! Plus bikes, atv, jet skis, snowmobile, buggies, boats, campers. So much I want because I enjoy everything! We’ll see where life takes me. Hoping to marry a Doctor too.

I have nothing against the Amanti, the Korean Town Car is fine in my book.
But the wheels are just too DUB for me, which is one of the things I hate the most, that and chrome wheels.

It has been hell. But the feeling of having not just one, but multiple cars without any mechanical issues or check lights is so rewarding. The GC is still clear, and on Thursday I’ll have a new EGR valve done under warranty since the part was faulty. But 100 percent fleet this weekend since my mom’s Camry is also clear, and her master cylinder was under warranty as well (part warranties I mean).
I got up to 267,000 on the Rio before selling. Camry is at 230,000, Amanti is 101,300, and the GC just hit 42,756.

If it helps, a majority of my family are low income or in low income areas. So shiny is a sign of prosperity since they grew up with 14inch steelies, no leather interiors, household light switches installed in cars to operate the headlamps (I’m not joking at all), and so on. So the big wheels are more for certain family members to smile over. I keep them on though because the vehicle has a ton of bright work and I refuse to do “sporty” or modern updates on a car that really is more old luxury. I do completely agree with you. 100%

Put a motorcycle in that rotation.
I own 4 cars & 2 bikes. 1 car & 1 bike operate.
+ 1 for wife’s car. ( not mine technically)

Every woman in my life is a nurse or has done nursing. Not a deal breaker or anything, but I have to be sensitive to that first. Timing, but that is the plan.

It’s just a totally different experience than a car. If you enjoy a leisurely drive, you’ll likely enjoy a ride.

Do it. Then make many videos for Oppo.

In your opinion, what’s the right number for one residence? Like 3 or 4?

Yes.

It really depends on what you’re in to. I have a million hobbies, so I need a tow vehicle for my boats, an off-roader and expedition rig, a track car, a cruiser and car show rig, a fun road car, and a daily driver. So I really couldn’t get with less than like 5 or 6.

“couldn’t get by with” - I think your 1% is showing! Hahaha... I’ve always been of the mind that I want my track car to be street legal, so that could cover two of those, but I know that a really good track car is going to be way too low and harsh for the road, and a really fun and usable road car is full of compromises at the track.
Your list is a good list.

Lol. Yeah, maybe a little bit. My track car is a C6 Z06, which is great for the track, but a bit much to handle on the road. Let the clutch out a little bit goofy, and you’re making smoke.

At one point I had (at the same time) a coupe, a wagon, a truck, and a motorcycle. Too confusing.
