Way too much going on with that design it has no clear direction or purpose. Sharp looking but way too busy and sloppy

There seemed to be a fair amount of hate for this new-gen Civic because of turbos or the looks but I like that this is kind of out-there for Honda. I want to support their decision to do something different rather than the conform to the homogeneity in car design today.
If anything, I dislike the shiny chrome bits (a brushed look would be perfect) and the fake diffuser-like thing on the arse of the car. Otherwise, I love the fact that it's a bit more adventurous than their other releases over the past couple of generations.

Things get awkward aft the B pillar.

That’s the sedan. The coupe is surely shorter.

You are right. If I’m understanding this article correctly, the coupe is 5.5 inches shorter?

Sweet Cobalt, bro. Is that an SS?

Goddamn it really is! The 2015 coupe is 189!

This post says “overall length of the car has been cut by 5.5” inches, so I assume it’s 5.5” shorter than the 2015. The official specs on the 2015 Civic Coupe list it as 177.9” long, so the 2016 should be 172.4” long.

Are you talking about the Accord? Honda’s site lists the 2015 Civic Coupe as 177.9” long .

Honestly, the new Civic is pretty much all the car any “normal” car buyer ever needs. It’s big enough to hold adults front and back, both engines, including the 174 hp turbo option, get over 40 mpg on the highway, it has high quality inside and out, it’s cheap to maintain, and it’ll last a long time.
Compared with its competition, many of the other models in the same class are built on platforms that date back to the early 2000s, with cheap, shitty twist-beam rear suspensions instead of Honda’s multilink setup, and un-remarkable engines that top out at like 140 hp while getting worse mileage.
The base Civic LX CVT starts at $19,440, and the fully-loaded Civic Touring with power leather seats heated front and rear, sunroof, dual-zone climate control, auto-dim mirror, fancy stereo, rain-sensing wipers, LED headlights, navigation, bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, backup camera, all the automated safety doodads, and the turbo motor that puts out 174 hp and gets 42 mpg on the highway, stickers at $26,500.
That right there is a totally nice, perfectly rational car, that is actually decent to drive as well, and at least on paper offers much better specs than its competitors, who have been churning out the same basic shit for the better part of a decade. The new Civic is really a big leap forward in its segment. I hope Honda sells a ton of them, and the other car companies up their game.
