On my odometer, not my paycheck unfortunately.

My Milan joined the 100k club this weekend.

Kinja'd!!!

(before you guys complain I had camera assist for the photo while driving, and I was being passed by people going at this speed)

I have to say I’m impressed by the fact that I’ve put 55k miles on this car and all I’ve done to this point other than regular maintenance (tires, oil changes, brakes) is 1 brake caliper replacement.

It needs some other maintenance items done soon: shocks/struts, spark plugs, a belt, and probably a new battery before this one quits mid-winter. Other than that it’s solid. Oh, I replaced the radio when the stock screen in this one gave out, I got upgraded to bluetooth though so that was cool.

Well...we’re gonna complain anyway. MontegoMan? You’re gonna be more like...*MajorInjuriesMan if you keep that up, so cut it out!

*(Yes, I agree. That was horrible. I’m not sorry for doing it, though.)

I was so mad when I spaced out and wasn’t paying attention when my truck crossed 100k. Another Oppo did a nice job photoshoping my 100,005 mile picture to read 100,000 :)

I expect nothing less.

That speed is totally normal around here on the freeways in Michigan.

I was in the right lane, zero traffic on a Saturday afternoon...and being passed like I was standing still by people on my left.

Hahahaha. I suppose I could have done that once I stopped.

I’m mostly pissed off that my decimal point went away.

For example, Saturday Morning the odometer read: 99984.6

Today it reads something like 100024

Well, in another story I tried to trade it in on Saturday morning for a Yukon XL.

Awesome truck we were just off on the values. Valued my Milan at 3000 (I wanted 4). He told me as soon as I drive it home it’s worth 500 bucks to him so we had to do the deal today. As soon as I cracked 100k miles he has trouble moving them because people only search for “100k or less” miles.

I was tempted to say, if that’s true why am I here offering to buy an $8,000 Yukon with 123k miles?

I drove the Milan home.

He just emailed me asking if I’d take a higher payment or longer term on the loan.

I told him he was 1000 off on my trade in (I wanted 4k) which is apparently only worth 500 bucks now. And I confirmed with the wife when I got home I would have been in trouble with a higher payment/term. So feel free to pay me 4k for a car that’s over 100k now. That would be fine haha.

Oye. I hate salesman like that. I’m not a, “Car salesman are all horrible sleeze-balls” believer ... but some certainly are.

I think this guy is really just trying to move a quality truck and has his hands tied.

The used car sales manager could have added 500 to my trade in and taken 500 off the Yukon and it would have been a done deal. It could have been 250 on one and 750 on the other, I don’t care. We were a grand a part. If that was all the margin he had left on it, then I get it. But don’t play games.

Also, he did show me the service records on it, they did $1,600 in repairs on it before putting it up for sale. That’s nice and great that they did the work, but I think I’m the only one interested so...off to auction it’ll go.

I wonder where they auction, it would be hysterical if I bought it at auction from them.

That would be funny. I bought a cheap beater at auction once. Risky, but fun.

This one I would trust. Now, if I can only find out their auction location...

Yeah, that would be nice to find an auction for one that you’d actually driven.

Bullshit like this is why I don’t do business with dealers. “Well it’s worth $500 now...” because there are a shitload of $500 100kmi Milans on Autotrader right? Craigslist maybe. GTFOutta here with that, mr. dealer.

He had the balls to email me again yesterday.

“Are you sure you wouldn’t be interested in a slightly higher payment or a longer loan term?”

my response was “we were $1000 off on the value of the trade. Personally I don’t care if that’s taken off the price of the Yukon or added to the value of the Milan, either way. But since I drove it home I believe your manager said it’s valued at $500 now. So that puts us at $3500 apart on the value of my trade.

I’m not willing to take a longer term or a higher payment.”

Benefit of not NEEDING to buy the vehicle. I doubt he has many customers who will walk away. I know the dealer has invested $1600 in parts and labor to get it ready for sale. My bet is he’ll call me next week. Haha.

Oh and the reason I was/am planning on dealing with a dealer is because the wife doesn’t want 3 payments even if it’s sold payed off in a month (she’s paranoid)

Hmm, that’s funny. I see, “Well you’re clearly not interested in sucking my cock. Would you like to try anal without lube instead?” written there. The NERVE on some muafuggas out there. Seriously.

“Just wanted to follow up with you and see if you had given any thought to taking on a little higher payment than the $150/ mos. or possibly extending the term a bit longer to get you to your desired payment? If you think there is any room to compromise please give me a call.”

That’s his direct email to me- copy and pasted. Then there was some chit chat crap about the football game this coming weekend because I was wearing my MSU jacket so he knew who I’d be supporting.

Honestly with the crap about my car being worth 3k, There’s a Yukon Denali with a 6.0L for sale with a bit higher miles, but 2 years newer for the same price. I’m more likely to go get the Denali.
