I made it to Fort Leonard Wood. 2+ hours driving a 15 passenger van full of teenagers. Taps has played and this place is eerily silent, with a little distant traffic noise and the occasional hum of an air conditioner. I’m teaching a class in the morning so I guess I’d better hit the hay pretty soon.
Spending the day packing and dealing with the landlord has kept me away from the net all day and I was stunned to hear about the attacks in France. I’m currently sitting outside the barracks in 41 degree weather having a stogie, and perhaps appropriately for today, a little French whisky. I’ll take an extra slug in memory of those lost today.

Enjoy the Wood. Go to the east St Roberts exit and get some Sweetwater Barbeque.
Holy moly that place is good.

I wish I could. Got a government van and 9 cadets, so I have to eliminate personal journeys. If I come down with my personal vehicle I'll make sure to hit the place. I'd like to see how it compares to my favorite in STL, Sugarfire. Never a bad meal there.

I argue the BBQ is better than Sugarfire. Sides are less ‘foodie’ than Sugarfire, but I argue those are better, too.
Call ‘em. They may deliver. ‘Hey, this guy I never met and barely know from the web told me I have to get your brisket! Can you bring it to the gate?!?!’

Yeah, I’d have to agree about Sugarfire. The food is great, but perhaps they’re trying too hard to distinguish themselves. Do the basics right and you don’t need to get all fancy.
I'd love to order out, but I'm broke and can't really justify it. Next time, if the squadron is coming my meals, you bet I'll be there!
