Gas is $1/gallon forever. But...

Kinja'd!!!

...engines become more fragile. They cannot make much more than 200HP without sacrificing reliability, and engines larger than six cylinders rip themselves apart on the engine dyno regardless of advancements in design. High-revving engines also never happened.

Would you push the button?

In a heartbeat.

Seat time is one of the few areas where quantity is better than quality.

Yes, in a heartbeat. I have not owned, and may never own, a vehicle with anywhere near 200HP. Yeah I’d like to but I don’t need to.

I’d rather not have what sounds like a permanent fuel crisis engine era though. Plus the M3 makes 240 horsepower so it’s compromised.

200hp is supercar levels of speed on a motorcycle!

Nah. Cheap gas is only important when you've got big engines that get shitty mileage and make gobs of power. I'll pay my $2.25 and make all the power I want.

The main purpose that high-powered car enthusiasts spend money on gas is to have fun-in a way. But we can’t have fun if their engines aren’t high-powered anymore.

Yes, but fuel costs are not ever an issue with a motorcycle. I have disassembled the button for safety reasons.

I guess that means the Big block I’m building for the Bruiser would self immolate on the engine stand before it’s finished.

In the land of the cheap gas, the car with less hp is king!

Having been raised in the late “Malaise Era” I don’t think I’d be able to do that to other people.

Unless the button had a Do Not Press sticker over it. Then I’d be tempted.

I daily drove a P38 Range Rover with a fragile 150whp engine when gas was over $4/gal. I think I pushed the wrong button.

Anyways, no. Paying for gas doesn’t bother me because I have terrible priorities.

well, I’m perfectly happy with my current sub-200HP engine, so heck yes.

although, I work in the oil industry, this cheap fuel is no bueno for job security
