I’d totally rock a Rover 75. They’re even legal to import here now.

Kinja'd!!!

So British, just look at all that “wood”!

Kinja'd!!!

And you could get it with a 4.6 V8, in wagon form too. (Those aren’t legal yet though.)

You know, that's not a bad idea. It'd be a unique and cool DD. I really like the interior. Wonder if it'd be hard to get work done on it.

Which was basically a Rover in a hat, same car IMO.

You Canadians get all the best car stuff. I got to wait until I’m nearing my 30s to get a chance at one.

Always liked the Rover 75, like a British Buick Park Avenue. If Rover went bust after this car was released, I think it would be an okay end for the company.

I’d want the V8 but with a front end swap from the normal car. Alternatively, I’ll take the one-off coupe that they built:

Swap in the 5.0 anyway for maximum Carol Shelby.

Even better, swap in the 4.2 S/C V8 that was used in the 90s Jag XJR for maximum BRITISH.

Maximum British also means maximum Lucas Electrics. You do want this thing to actually move, don’t you?

Not moving = more British

The parts are readily available. Not only does Caterpillar have rights to make the parts but China made them after Rover went under, as the Roewe 750 and as the MG something or other.

Our 75 was okay (1.8litre K series engine), nothing to right home about but the 2.5 litre V6 was a good solid car and the 4.6 V8 a beautiful sounding monster.

The leg room in the back isn’t great and nor is knee room (width ways) great in the front especially with the cup holder open as it swings out into the passenger knee area.

Ah yes, the Rover 75 Coupe. The BMW guy Joseph Piechenshreider (or however you spell it) wanted this car to revive the Riley brand as Joseph (whatshisname) was an Anglophile and loved British cars and there heritage. It’s a shame it never went into production but it still wouldn’t of been enough to save MGRover Group.

Unfortunately the Canadians still have to wait 15 years after we’ve had them.

Sorry Canada.

Saw one last month. A guy (last year or so ago) who shops at my store came in. Bought his 2.5 V6 cheap off a small garage. The garage had heard about the head gasket thing with the 1.8 but thought it was all off them so sold it to a customer for less than half of what a 2.5 V6 was going for. Doh!
