You can draw better than I can, that’s for sure.

Not bad for using a mouse (I assume). Do you know about the path tool and layer masks? If not, check that ish out!

Paths are usually best made with the pen tool. They are vector-based shapes that you can use to outline and cut out subjects in an image, or with the help of layer masks, control where your strokes show up, and where they don’t. With masks, you can effectively make an editable, digital version of a wax paper and masking tape mask so the rest of your piece does not get contaminated.

I printed this article out on March 28, 2005, and over ten years later still have it on my book shelf; check it out.

While painting the hard reflections, instead of erasing, as the tutorial says, use a layer mask so you can adjust what parts show without painting over everything. Remember, it was written a long time ago, but even manual rendering techniques carry over to Photoshop if you know the right tools.

Buy a used copy of “How to Draw Cars like a Pro” by Thom Taylor, and study Chapter Ten.

I would recommend taking a Photoshop class if you’re considering design or illustration as a career (you’re in high school, right?).

Cheers!

Once you have time to mess around with the new tools and techniques (I know it’s a lot of info at once), let me know if you have any questions!

One of HondaBro’s recent renderings had two million polygons. I think this has somewhere between 20 and 30 (although I guess it's not really fair to compare since this is 2D).

However, when I use my imagination to think about what this would look like when it's cleaned up, I think it could be alright. Keep drawing, it looks like someone else gave you some good tips to put to use. We await your Lexus 2054 Mk. II.
