I, on the other hand, am quite happy with this photo dump. Happy belated Wagon Wednesday.

I’ll accept it, with some asterisks.

Track, Daily, Burn?

Daily because Honda.

Track because 788 hp.

This is equal parts sexual arousal and animalistic rage, mixed with a substantial pinch of emotional confusion and a dash of the urge to used the word “RUINED” for many on Oppositelock.
I’m just sitting over here moist as a muhfucka.

Burn because wtf does this do.

Thanks. You’re conditional acceptance of what I find visually appealing means so much to me.

I’ll take the top two. They do not have stupid amounts of negative camber in the rears and look very well executed. I’m also going to assume the Audi is running on bags so even better.

If sufficiently angry means ‘not very’, then yes, your plan worked.

Considering you said “maybe” to that F10 Estate I’m going to say the answer to your extra credit question is “flawed.”

Good strategy, but you didn’t incorporate all the information from the scorecard. Look for a pattern which encompasses all the data.

Considering that Audi has more rear camber that half of the other cars in this dumb, I think you should reevaluate your definition of “stupid.”
Considering that Volvo has 788hp and makes a Ferrari 599 GTB look like its standing still in a drag race, I think you should reevaluate your definition of “very well executed.”
The first Audi is on bags. So is the BMW f10 Estate, the CTS-V, and the 2001 Audi S4 Avant.

Slammed cars are so stupid!
But... they look so good.
i’m sure that means something.

I’m referring to the black Audi on top. I struggle to see the degree of camber it has that you are speaking about.
I was referring to cleanliness and execution when saying “very well executed.” I am fully aware of that Volvo’s underpinnings and respect it. It’s just not my style.
Don’t know if my tone came off too strong but I’m a supporter of this post so I’m not sure where you’re going with this...

That’s the hex code for the color white. Other than that, I don’t know. All of your yes scores can be had in a manual. The Mercedes cannot. However the Caddy can and I believe the BMW can as well so, again, I don’t know.

On this website, its safer to assume comments do not support anything stance related. Your use of the term “stupid” made me assume that was true of your comment as well. I read it wrong. My apologies.

Ah, no worries. I use the term “stupid” more loosely like Chris Harris does.
I get that lack of support when I occasionally post my love of VIP saloons. There are actually a pretty sizable group of us who like stance (within reason of course) on Oppo though. It’s just you gotta look for them through the sea of “OEM only” folks.

That’s a door so it probably opens and closes to allow occupants in and out of the vehicle.

Ahh gotcha. I used to post stuff like this all the time, but the response was never all that welcoming so I stopped. I guess I’m a little annoyed with the amount people are willing to poo-poo something and then get unnecessarily upset when you criticize what they like. I have noticed the amount of us who like well done stance is slowly growing though, so there’s hope. I absolutely love VIP saloons. Any big body luxury car that’s been brought down to earth has a special place in my heart, especially Jeremy Whittle’s 7 Series.

I personally like several of those cars. The only things I don’t like is the couple with excessive camber and super stretched tires, I’m beginning to see that I don’t dislike Stance itself, just those two terrible things that are bad for your car that people seem to keep doing.
![]() 11/12/2015 at 01:53 |

This seems to be something many people have a difficult time with, but its an important realization. Stance isn’t always the over exaggerated image people have in their heads. Sure, that is definitely something that exists within the culture but honestly a lot of people with tastefully stanced cars find the excessive “I did it for the internet” mentality pretty annoying.
That said, I like some of the over the top stuff. I personally think that Datsun 610 is cool as hell. I wouldn’t modify my car in the same way, but I like it and appreciate the commitment.
![]() 11/12/2015 at 03:01 |

Personally, for me the Datsun is either an inch or two too low or the tires are too small, the tire/wheelwell size difference seems just a bit off. But aside from that and the rear camber it’s really nice.
That Volvo is super nice, I’d DD the bejeezus out of that.

Slammed cars that aren’t cambered within an inch of their life?
![]() 11/12/2015 at 09:11 |

Everything here—EVERYTHING—is about $3,000 too far to the wrong side of good taste. And I mean that in the most universal, objective sense possible. Another inch of ground clearance and zero camber wouldn’t offend anyone, but everyone would like it.
But hell, it’s their money, time, tires, and oil pans.

That CTS-V

I disagree. I would also argue that the “universal, objective” sense of good taste in terms of modifications, especially on this site, is the equivalent of buying a beige Toyota Camry.
I don’t like the Toyota Camry, and I have zero interest in posting things because everyone would like them.
Also almost half of these cars are on air, so tires and oil pans are no more of a concern than they are on normal cars.
![]() 11/12/2015 at 10:13 |

True, I know they’re bagged and don’t drive around looking like this (and if they are, I want to move to the Land of Magically Smooth Roads!)
I say “objective” because I bet if you polled 1,000 people across all design disciplines on what the ideal wheel gap is, it would be much more than what you see here. I get there’s an unspoken competition to see who can be the lowest (I’ve been in VW/Audi enthusiast circles for almost 20 years), but at some point going way beyond practical just starts to look silly — think about guys taking roids and just working their biceps. It’s unbalanced.
The second pic with the 5er on the 20” looks best, IMHO. But I’m anti-tuck and think your car’s negative camber shouldn’t be noticeable. The overly stanced cars look like one person modded the car, but never met the guy who did the suspension. Then they got together and were like “Oh, shit, I got the specs wrong!”

Not really seeing anything too rediculous in there. With the exception of that Datsun wagon. Carry on.
