In case you missed it, I got a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I was there for about 3 hours to see how things went. Six people cashed out during this time. I kid you not, FIVE of them were Corvettes! It’s a Southern Florida retirement town thing, I guess. One was an 02 with less than 5,000 miles on it. No one drives them here. I also met a guy with a Callaway tuned C7 Corvette. The sound it made was absolutely Godly. The job itself is just a lot of memorization.

Congrats! My cousin just starting working at a Chevy dealer a few months ago.. He loves it.
How'd you go about getting the job? I have a brother around your age who would love to work at a dealer.

I’m only 17 and all of the dealers I talked too told me to wait until I was 18. But one night on Craigslist I found the job just posted and figured I would apply, because why not.
I think a big factor was that the hours were pretty bad for most people. It’s Saturdays onlys (Im just training during the week) from 8AM until 5:30 PM. Some people want Saturdays off and others need more hours than that. For me, a high school senior, it was perfect since I can still do all my schoolwork during the week and was able to keep my serving job on Fridays and Sundays.
I just got lucky and they liked me for some reason.

No but Im getting more than minimum wage which is a big win for me. And she was hinting at more hours and new positions when I turn 18... so hopefully it works out for a while

No joke. We actually have a chapter of the Corvettes club in my town and they have like semi-annual Corvette meets which take over Main Street and close it down all day.
They just sit in garages for the most part and it’s such a shame.

That is a shame.
But theyll be fresh someone that drives them someday.

That’s the joke of my town. Dealers like to sell a lot of the elderly more car than they need. Case in point:
One of my old regular customers at Publix was an 87 year old woman. She drove.... A CTS V WAGON!
Also had a woman with a totally stock, manual 90s Supra in red! It had a quilt on the backseat! And less than 50K miles!
It’s also great if you want a weird thing: like a minty fresh Chrysler K Car

Yep, more than minimum wage and more positions when you turn 18? I’ve heard that one before.

Well I’m already over min now. And I’m leaving the state for college so even if I don’t get promoted... still worth it because I’ll put up with it for a few months
