Man I hope the new Bronco is based off the Everest.

Kinja'd!!!

It makes sense giving the Everest is on the Ranger platform and they’ll share a plant.

I love this thing.

So Ford is going to sell the Escape, Bronco, Explorer, and Expedition?

It wouldn't make sense because you'd be moving production of a then-3 year old car to a completely different place. Unless the UAW now has dominion in Thailand.

The impression from all of this has been that they’re building the same Ranger that they’ve been building over seas at the Michigan Assembly plant.

Why wouldn’t they build the “Bronco” as the Everest with a new badge? It’s already engineered.

More importantly a 3 year old platform hasn’t deterred them before. When the C346 Focus and the B515 Escape were launched they’d already been for sale in other markets as the Focus and the Kuga for years.

I hope so. Can we just classify the Explorer as a MiniVan without sliding doors?

I’ve always said this Everest should have been the new Explorer because it’s actually capable. The Everest is my lust after old overseas SUV we never got here.

(older generation, the one I posted first just came out for 2015)

I’ve been hoping and arguing for the P375 Ranger to be here since before you’ve ever seen it.

I’ve actually driven one (and loved it). I’ve looked at these scenarios from every possible angle.

I even had the change to argue (politely of course) that the Ranger should have been launched here when it was globally.

I don’t know how they’re going to do it this time, but they told me then that the pricing wouldn’t work out and it would be only about $1-2000 less than a similarly optioned F150 and they figured everyone would just buy the full size.

I’d rather have the mid-size pickup.

I don’t blame you since most ppl that buy full-size trucks don’t buy ‘em for practicality. However, I think the Bronco should be F-150-based as per tradition, with another ranger-based model (a la Bronco II) as an alternative. Oh, and no fancy trims on these either. If you want luxury, buy a damn expedition.

Hahaha. I would prefer an Expedition capable Expedition.

But the original Bronco was small. That’s my favorite kind, never got into the Bronco II though - I always thought the S10 was better at that game.
