In direct opposition (oppo, get it?) to the front page’s QOTD,
!!! UNSUPPORTED LINE BREAK IN HEADER !!!
I ask you, what limited edition car would you actually go out of your way to possess? What makes it actually special and/or limited?
Aside from the many one of one, or one of three type ferraris from 50 years ago, nothing is actually coming to mind as a limited edition I’d truly desire.
In answer to the FP question, someone had mentioned the Jurassic Park Ford Explorer, which I would TOTALLY get over the stock option, but I don’t think it was actually a real edition, these are all made by fans right?

there was a Mazda Speed version too that got a stock turbo yes? Not sure how limited they were, but that sounds like an update worth chasing.

Yeah it made 165hp I think. We didn’t get it over here though.

Eddie Bauer edition Fords always felt nice inside, but I have no idea what they cost back in the day.
If I were a troll I might say mk3 Harlequin... wait I kind of want one... I suppose I’m a troll.

Also the Jetta City always seemed worthwhile for the Canadian that was trying to save a couple grand.

all the Bauer fords I can remember had tan leather, which always seems to look SO cheap, like vinyl to me. Never been a fan.

Fair enough, but I always prefer tan/brown leather, except in Saabs. Saabs should always have black leather.

You didn’t miss out on much. Antiquated ECU architecture meant tuning was difficult, and while the engine was pretty great, there were other aspects of the car that really sucked. The stock 17” wheels looked ridiculous and made the ride much rougher than it should have been. The 6-speed transmission was geared so close you were unable to take advantage of the broader torque curve of the turbo motor. The final drive gearing was so high that the car would bounce on the limiter in 6th gear at 125-ish mph. If they had kept the standard 5-speed MX5 gearbox and diff it would have been so much better.
