...happened on 8 November, 2013. OK, sure there was a 200 mph hurricane, and Pat’s a more wicked bitch that Haiyan, but the former didn’t whip as hard as the latter. And it still stings after all these years.

No, but my brother’s BPO friend, Dale, who once boarded in our house, got worried, as the rest of his family was right on the typhoon path ( Borongan ). His nephew and niece showed up one Christmas before the storm, so it vexed us some. Fortunately, they’re safe, because of quick thinking and knowledge of the safer spots. The storm surge was simply beyond belief, Dale said when he got back, and everything’s wiped off. Bodies scattered, relatives weeping over the dead, distraught, despairing faces...

I worked in Joplin during the 2011 tornadoes. Mother nature can be very devastating. We lost our entire downtown branch and I’ll never remember just how destroyed everything was inside the rubble. All from wind.... Violent, vicious wind. Makes you feel tiny, that’s for sure. Glad to hear everyone made it out okay. I wouldn’t wish that upon my worst of enemies.
