Are these products any good? I’ve been using one for a while; I did a proper wax today for the first time in 15 years, and I’d forgotten what a tedious thing it is.

The Meguiars stuff is fantastic. Gets the car nice and clean, and leaves a beautiful layer of wax behind.

Ive used Coral and Turtle Wax Ice (my current go-to). The Turtle Wax Ice also has a detail spray, which I also use. And for glass I use Invisible Glass.

The wash+wax is usually good for about a month at a time, you can rinse and detail spray in between with great results.

If you really go all out, clay bar first. I havent done a full actual wax in a long time, and I dont think I would go back any time soon unless I lose my current day job...

I think wash n wax has a place for some but it’s been vastly out done by the likes of Gyeon Bathe+, Gyeon Wetcoat, CarPro Hydro2, CarPro Hydrolite2, etc...

If you want a waxed looked with little effort and around the same level of durability, etc... check out Adam’s H2O Gloss Guard. Can be applied to a wet or dry car by spraying on and wiping in with a damp cloth and then buffing with a dry cloth. Great for paint, glass and plastics.

I use the spray and wash stuff, it beads up and seems to work for a while. Maybe every couple years I get a guy I know (who was sent by the gods to detail on earth) do a full detail and wax.

They make a lot of claims but it’s a lot like the “wax” at a coin wash.

I’ve used the meguiers ultimate wash and wax. It smells kinda like good coke and bananas. You have to dry/buff it quick or it leaves streaks. But it’s a good in between real waxes.

This is the one I’ve been using for a few years.

Once it starts to not bead as well I clay and paste wax. I’ve had to do it 2 times in 18 months, so it seems to do the job.

My opinion is I would always prefer to do a normal wash and either apply a spray wax or detailer that can be used as a drying aid. You can keep using the same wash and wax soap but follow up with something quick.

If you want something over the counter you can pick up a bottle of Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax, it can be sprayed on the panel as you are drying it, the car doesn’t have to be dry. That leaves a great gloss behind as well as some protection.

Same here. I use that for washing my car every 1-2 weeks. And sometimes a quick detailing wax spray every other wash. This is in addition to a full clay, compound, and carnauba wax every 4 months or so.
