You can get a Quattroporte for under $9,000.

It’s a salvage title and needs some bodywork, but the airbags are not deployed, the frame is not damaged, (visibly, at least) and everything mechanical is perfectly sound.

This seriously might be the best deal I’ve seen in a while. I’d imagine that you could get it registered with just a new headlight and bumper cover, but you might even luck out by just zip-tying a sealed-beam headlight in that general area if your DMV is relaxed and/or lazy.

Regardless, you could easily have a running luxury Ferrari sedan for under $15,000 if you don’t mind having dents in the doors and a mismatched bumper.

To each their own. I’d actually like it better being rough around the edges.

You can also get AIDS for under $9,000 that doesn't mean you should. If I was shopping for a Maserati the Coupe is about a $15,000 dollar car and that offers a lot more reliability and stability for the money. (Never thought I would be saying that.)

But the Quattroporte is much more... bigger.

Plus, worst case scenario, you could probably turn a profit by selling the engine and the rest of the car separately.

I am kinda comparing apples to oranges because one in a two door and the other a four. And I don't know how much engines go for but 9k would be a lot for a used engine from a salvaged car I think

Probably, but still. I dunno. I just want this.

No.

A $9k Quattroporte will never ‘only’ cost $9k. Just save yourself (most of the) headaches this would give you and get a decent non-destroyed example.

80000+ miles, I shudder to think how much it would cost to fix everything that breaks over the next 40,000 miles. Otherwise it would totally make and awesome rat rod. I’d weld a big ass steel bumper on the front.

That was my thought. That or rip out the drive train, part out the rest. You could have a very unique engine swap
