At least it’s not Japanese. American designs often take good lines and then destroy them with a few really tacky details. The Japanese just don’t have good lines to begin with on most of their cars, especially Toyota.

I know. I think the 90s were especially strong for the Japs and especially poor for the US. Other decades were less clear cut like that.

Agreed, though I think the very late ‘90s and entire ‘00s were the weakest decade for American cars. At least the plastic on ‘90s cars is thick and durable and has a sort of rubbery charm to it, the ‘00s didn’t even get that.

There is something to be said for decent plastic! It’s not fancy, but it’s strong, cheap, light, durable, easy to clean.
