I am a big James Bond fan, well not as big as Justin, but I have seen all movies at least twice.
I had no expectations for SPECTRE and more or less skipped every promotional material. I hyped myself for Skyfall, liked it on release and than it fell on its face.
Without much spoilers I would say, that this movie do a lot of the mistakes that Quantum of Solace did. Too much nothing and not enough everything that makes JB.
No memorable villains, plot twists seen from so far, I think they disappeared from sight because of the roundness of the Earth. And the biggest offender, under using the cars, again, but at least in the previous films they were not those absolutely awesome things that we were presented here.
Also Craig needs to go, we need new direction for Bond, because this is just boring.
Also there is some CGI that should not be so bad in a 2015 movie that has such budget.

Glad it’s not just me. Daniel Craig is an underwhelming Bond – too much duckface, not enough class.

So it turns out I am not the only one who doesn’t get the Skyfall hype.

Skyfall is really weird film, it looks great, it feels right to a point, but there is always that nagging feeling that things are not right.
With Skyfall at least for 2/3 of the movie was not boring, here we have alot of that.

Skyfall sucks

I think Skyfall is a really good film for the most part, however my one massive gripe with it is the plot. I have seen the film two or three times and I still have no idea why Silva is so obsessed with killing M, and I think the final confrontation between Bond and Silva is lackluster from an entertainment perspective.

Agreed. Saw it last night in IMAX. Meh.

All of Silva’s actions rely on being incredibly lucky and pieces falling together, like it is perfectly orchestrated thing. Still he was trilling/funny as villain, if you don’t think about those problems.

The only really redeeming feature is that is visual porn. And when there was action it was great.

This really saddens me. I think Casino Royale may be the best Bond movie, Quantum did nothing for me, and I quite enjoyed Skyfall, so averaged together the Craig Bond movies have been pretty positive. Add in the fact that Christoph Waltz (one of my favorite actors) is playing the main villain and I was very excited for this. I’ll probably still see it in theaters, but this is very discouraging.

Waltz is absolutely amazing actor that make things better. In this role, he is underused, but still kind of great when he is on screen. Maybe next time he will be much better used.
P.S. Jango Unchained is for me his best commercial role.

I did love his character in Django, but to me there is just no beating his performance as Hans Landa in Inglorious Basterds. His whole persona in that movie is just incredible. One minute happy and cheerfully conversing with someone, switching to a sickening menace at the flip of a switch. Now, granted, it has a lot to do with the writing, but I’ll never forget the opening scene where you just watch his face completely change when he asks “You’re harboring enemies of the state are you not?”

Time for Idris Elbond

If anything has to do with the last two Bond movies being meh, it sure as hell is not Craig.
I also think Quantum was fairly decent. It was a direct continuation from Casino Royale and, taken in that context, was quite good. Skyfall was a jarring break in continuity, had garbage pacing, and a razor-thin story. It was really just an excuse to blow up a house in grand fashion.
I’ll wait to see Spectre before passing judgement, but I do have to wonder...whatever the fuck happened to the Quantum organization they were setting us up to encounter in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace ? I always assumed that was going to be the new Spectre, and it never materialized.
