GLH=Goes Like Hell
they did no power increasing mods to this and just slapped some crap on it to make it “look cool” according to car and driver the old 1986 Omni GLHS with 175hp with 175 ft/lb went 0-60 in 6.5 and .81g on the sticky. The 2015 manual 1.4 turbo Dart C&D tested went 8.2 and .83g.

What a chunk of crap. 29 years later and this is the GLH they give us!!!!!!!! I want to barf in horror!
I will do the math for you.
29 years of chassis development 29 years of tire turbo engine management transmission suspension and this is the GLH they give us. Two hundredths better grip and 1.7 seconds worse acceleration, but I guess there may be something to be said about a 1.4 turbo making as much power as it does but its a GLHS!

I’m not sure how the numbers stack up, but if you are looking for something like the Omni, you may be better off checking out the 500 Abarth. Seems a little more in line with what the GLH was all about.

You know, for the company that makes such a big deal out of stuffing a nuke under the hood of the Charger, I’d expect better. I mean, for crying out loud, at least turn the boost up!

From the dealer show they said the GLH was supposed to be the SRT4 that they weren’t calling an SRT4 anymore because of the Focus RS. SEMA the GLH is a body kit.

Oh well, I’m not going to get too worked up over a SEMA car. I’ll wait until it goes into production with now power increase before I’ll get worked up.

Uh thats a sema car to advertise accessories not a production trim model.Fca’s 5 year plan calls for a awd glh dart in 2017.

Those numbers aren’t too far off of the original GLH Non-Turbo (2.2 H.O.).

After experience with a LeBaron GTC 2.2 VNT... I am not sure why anyone would want a high-powered wrong-wheel-drive car.

That car had so much torque steer when the turbo hit, that it would rip your arms off at the shoulders and slap you across the face with them.

If they had actually combined Daytona looks, with Chrysler Conquest’s properly rear-driven chassis... it might have actually been something as compelling as Mustang SVO and Porsche 944 Turbo.

Why bother putting power in a car built the wrong way, in regards to performance and weight transfer?

If they wanted something tiny and interesting, they should have shoved the engine in the back like a Renault R5, or the custom-build Ford ShoGun mid-engined Festiva.

the GLH was a model in 1986. Why use an actual performance car name to advertise parts that do nothing for performance?

Allpar’s article on the GLH says that it stands for “Goes Like Heck ”...

Not sure if Allpar is afraid of alienating a singular uber-Christian subscriber, or if their particular description of “GLH” is surprisingly apt...

I was very excited when I saw the GLH article pop up in my news feed, then I read about it and became very disappointed. As a Dart owner I was hoping for something real to aspire to in a couple years from Dodge. I’m turning to Honda with the new Civic Type-R(the whole new Civic line up really) and Subaru with everything they make. Chevy/Buick/GM needs to bring some fun over from Europe like a the Astra VXR please, the Regal GS/Turbo is a step in the right direction it just needs a little crazy and hatchback thrown in.

If you look at how the 5 Year plan has played out thus far, I have very little hope to ever actually see a real SRT/GLH Dart. I don’t have much hope in FCA period, the Hellcats are excellent but they don’t make up for everything else.

I checked their website and didn’t see any mention of any GLH.

Is this just some crappy package a dealer slapped together?

Probably is.

This is the real GLH that is coming:

They didn’t really say much about power at the dealer renouncement show either, IIRC. The Dart GLH would be seriously fun if it had the motor from the 4C.
